Ahsoka Season 2 Release Window Seemingly Revealed After Delay Rumors

Fans now have a likely timeframe for the release of Ahsoka season 2, despite earlier concerns about a possible delay. Disney announced the second season in January 2024, but details about when it would arrive were scarce. Speculation about a delay began when the show wasn’t included in Disney+’s promotional material for upcoming 2026 releases.

Disney+ has added a “Coming Soon in 2026” section to its streaming service, and it includes Ahsoka season 2. This is the first hint from Disney+ that the new season might be released later this year, though they haven’t given a specific date yet, so it could premiere at any time.

I’m so excited for more Ahsoka! I heard they started filming season 2 in April 2025 over in the UK, and thankfully, they wrapped up by September. Apparently, Dave Filoni wrote all eight episodes himself, which is amazing. Plus, rumors are flying that he’s going to take over as president of Lucasfilm when Kathleen Kennedy steps down. As for the rest of the Star Wars universe, it sounds like things are still being polished in post-production.

At the end of Ahsoka’s first season, Ahsoka was with the Noti, Sabine, and Huyang after defeating Morgan. At the same time, Ezra Bridger was happily reunited with Hera Syndulla after being apart for a long time. Elsewhere, Baylan Skoll continued his travels and discovered statues of the Mortis Gods. These events are all setting the stage for what will happen in season 2.

Disney+ has indicated the show will premiere this year, though the exact release date remains unknown. The streaming service is already planning several major series for 2026, including the second season of Daredevil: Born Again on March 4th, the second season of X-Men ’97 in the middle of the year, and the second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man towards the end of 2026.

Several new Star Wars projects are coming this year, including Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord and Star Wars: Visions – The Ninth Jedi. Season 2 of Ahsoka is also planned, bringing the total to at least three new releases. However, specific release dates for all of these projects haven’t been announced yet.

As a huge Star Wars fan, I’m really hoping we don’t have to wait too long for Ahsoka season 2! Since they’ve already finished filming, I’m cautiously optimistic it could arrive sooner than expected. Disney+ has it listed, and from what I’ve heard, it’s the furthest along in post-production of all the upcoming Star Wars shows. That makes me think we might see it before any of the other series slated for 2026, which would be fantastic!
