The preview offers a glimpse into the upcoming story, where Nina Kiri’s character, Evy, and her mystery co-host begin listening to ten anonymous sounds sent by an unknown person – and the sounds quickly become disturbing.

Critics have praised Undertone as a truly frightening and unforgettable film. Cinapse called it “diabolically terrifying” and said it “refuses to let go,” while MovieJawn highlighted the exceptional sound design as a standout element.

Throughout the film, from the very first breaths you hear to the overwhelming climax of sound, and even in the quiet, unsettling scenes, sound is the movie’s hidden strength and most effective tool, according to reviewers.

Director and writer Ian Tuason created this film, basing the story on his personal life.

I’m creating a horror experience called The Undertone that aims to completely immerse players in fear, using sound design to make even silence feel frightening, as I previously explained.

This film, drawn from my personal experiences caring for others, examines how the stories we create about fear, guilt, and loneliness can actually be more frightening than anything else.

Producer Cody Calahan highlighted Tuason’s incredibly original approach, noting that they didn’t follow typical horror conventions and instead crafted something both daring and disturbing.

The film features Kiri alongside Kris Holden-Ried, known for The Umbrella Academy, and Keana Lyn Bastidas from The Boys.

I’m really excited for Undertone, but unfortunately, we don’t have a UK release date yet! Luckily, our friends in the US will be able to see it on March 13th, which is great news.

The latest issue of Living Legends magazine is now available, and it’s dedicated to the incredible Dolly Parton! You can find ‘Dolly at 80’ in shops or order it online for only £8.99.
