The updated look for Shyvana is coming soon, and we’re getting a first look at the changes along with the release date!
In 2026, the first season will center around Demacia, and will include a much-anticipated update to the champion Shyvana later in the season. Riot Games has been hinting at her redesign in recent videos, and players are excited to see what’s new.
Shyvana’s concept art
Shyvana’s planned update was originally meant for 2025, but it’s been pushed back. Recent concept art shows a much more dragon-focused design, emphasizing her dragon form over her human appearance. This is a significant change from her original look in 2011. Leaks suggest her hair will now be reddish-orange, and she’ll be wearing Petricipe armor on her chest and right arm.
Shyvana’s rework first look
On November 30th, popular League of Legends data miner BigBadBear posted screenshots of the updated Shyvana. The in-game model appears to match previously released concept art.
Riot Games kicked off the 2026 season on January 7th with a new cinematic called ‘Salvation.’ The video gave fans their first glimpse of an updated Shyvana, though her final in-game appearance may still change. The animation was created by Fortiche studio, known for its distinctive style, and confirmed that Shyvana’s overall design will largely remain consistent with what was shown in the video.
Spideraxe recently revealed an updated version of Shyvana, and fans are impressed with how much better she looks compared to her original design from 2011. According to Riot Games, the update includes completely new visuals for both her human and dragon forms. Her abilities are largely the same, but there are a few small changes to her overall kit.
Connection to Demacia
Shyvana has a unique story: she’s a magical being who usually looks human, but transforms into a powerful dragon when she fights. After saving Prince Jarvan IV, she became his personal guard, despite facing prejudice from others. Though she’s half dragon, Shyvana understands and feels human emotions because she was raised among people.
It’s smart to release Shyvana’s updated design alongside the Demacia season. While she wasn’t originally from Demacia, she deeply considers it home and is fiercely loyal to its prince. We now know for sure her rework will launch during the Demacia season in early 2026, though players won’t see the new look immediately.
Riot Meddler confirms Shyvana’s rework in 2026
Riot Meddler recently announced that Shyvana will receive a visual update sometime during the Demacia season, but not with the very first update of the season. He explained they’re hinting at it to reassure players that the update is definitely planned for that timeframe.
Riot Games has already confirmed that Shyvana’s rework is coming during Act II.
