Pokémon Unite Meowth Movesets
Basic Attack
Every third attack becomes more powerful and also drops gold coins near the Pokémon it hits.
Passive – Pickup
When you attack opposing Pokémon, you’ll steal their held battle item. Defeating wild Pokémon also gives you a random battle item. This ability can’t be used constantly – it needs to recharge after each use. Meowth gets a speed boost when moving towards Aeos energy or gold. Collecting gold coins provides a temporary increase to movement speed.
Ability 1 – Scratch
Meowth scratches a designated opposing Pokémon with its sharp claws, dealing damage.
Ability Choices at Level 5
At Level 5, Meowth will have to choose either of the following abilities:
| Pay Day | Furry Swipes |
|---|---|
| Meowth hurls a gold coin in the designated direction, dealing damage and applying a slowing effect to opposing Pokémon it hits. Gold coins will drop near opposing Pokémon it hits. A maximum of 2 uses can be kept in reserve for this move. Picking up gold coins reduces the time until another reserve use becomes available. | Meowth swipes twice with its sharp claws at the designated opposing Pokémon, dealing damage and granting the user a shield effect. The number of swipes increases (up to 5 maximum) based on the number of times the user has recently dealt damage to opposing Pokémon. When this move hits, that number of times resets. If the maximum number of swipes hit, the cooldowns for Feint, Feint Attack, and Assurance will reset. |
Ability 2 – Feint
Meowth dashes at the designated opposing Pokémon, dealing damage to the opposing Pokémon it hits.
Ability Choices at Level 7
At Level 7, either of these two moves becomes available.
| Feint Attack | Assurance |
|---|---|
| Meowth charges in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon and restoring the user’s HP. This move deals double damage to opposing Pokémon that the user has recently dealt damage to five or more times. The more times Meowth deals damage to opposing Pokémon, the more the HP that is recovered. | Meowth charges in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon and restoring the user’s HP. Unite Move – Gold Coin Barrage
Meowth throws a shower of gold coins at an opposing Pokémon, causing significant damage. If another enemy Pokémon happens to be in the way, the coins will hit them instead.
During the attack, coins will periodically drop close to the enemy Pokémon hit by this Unite move.

Pokémon Unite Meowth Gameplay Tips
This guide will show you how to play Meowth effectively in Pokémon Unite and create a winning strategy. We’ll cover both the early and late stages of the game, so be sure to read through the entire guide.
Early Game
When playing Meowth, the best lanes are usually the Jungle/Central Lane, though the Bottom Lane is also a good option. Meowth is a strong, mobile attacker early in the game. Use Scratch and Feint to harass opponents, secure last hits on wild Pokémon, and generally control your lane. Remember that Meowth’s enhanced basic attacks drop Gold Coins – be sure to collect them to get a speed boost!

Meowth has a unique ability that lets it steal an opponent’s item during battle and immediately make its own item available again. This makes Meowth very useful early in the game, especially in one-on-one fights. Because of this, you should concentrate on earning resources, moving between lanes to bother opponents, and assisting your teammates in achieving objectives.
Mid and Late Game
Once Meowth reaches Level 5, players can choose between two abilities: Pay Day or Fury Swipes. At Level 7, it learns either Feint Attack or Assurance, leading to two distinct ways to play the game.

- Pay Day + Feint Attack: This combo boosts Meowth’s mobility, burst damage output and disrupt potential. Use Pay Day to poke and slow enemies, which in turn drops coins, then jump in with Feint Attack to disrupt and deal bonus damage to the Pokémon. Picking up coins boosts your movement speed and resets your battle item, letting you engage, escape, and re-engage often.
- Fury Swipes + Assurance: This combo is built for close-range burst and sustain. Ensure to build up stacks with basic attacks beforehand, then unleash Fury Swipes for multiple swipe attacks, then follow up with Assurance to deal heavy damage and restore HP. This combo works best when diving isolated targets, allowing Meowth to finish them quickly.
Choose the strategy that best fits your play style. Meowth’s Unite Move lets you quickly focus on and defeat a single enemy. A key benefit is that anyone trying to intercept the coins and protect that enemy will also take damage. Use this to eliminate the opposing team’s biggest threat and help secure important objectives like Groudon and Regieleki.
Positioning of Meowth
Meowth performs best in the Jungle or the bottom lane. These positions let you quickly gather resources and move between lanes to support your teammates.
Meowth with other Pokémon
This guide to playing Meowth in Pokémon Unite will also cover how Meowth interacts with other Pokémon in the game.
Best synergies with Meowth
Meowth works best on teams with Pokémon that excel at defense or providing support, as these partners can offer valuable help and keep Meowth going strong in tough battles.
| Pokémon | Benefits |
|---|---|
| Vaporeon | When paired with Vaporeon’s healing and disrupt abilities, Meowth can effectively dominate and burst down opposing Pokémon. |
| Snorlax | It can provide extra crowd control and disables, for Meowth making it easier to dominate core team fights. |
| Blissey | The healing and sustain abilities from Blissey will constantly help Meowth to last longer during fights. |
Pokémon that are strong and weak against Meowth
| Pokémon that Meowth counters | Pokémon that counter Meowth |
|---|---|
| Decidueye | Zoroark |
| Cinderace | Snorlax |
| Greninja | Alolan Ninetales |
| Cramorant | Zeraora |
| Gardevoir | Slowbro |
