Riot Games has announced what’s new in the first Teamfight Tactics (TFT) update of 2026. Here are the details for patch 16.2.

TFT patch 16.2 notes

According to Rodger Caudill, also known as “Riot Prism,” the update in Teamfight Tactics patch 16.2 is designed to balance out team compositions that focus on physical damage (AD) and magical damage (AP). The update also intends to make emblems useful within the game’s Lore & Legends system. Caudill explained that due to limited time, patch 16.2 will primarily involve adjustments to numbers, but bigger changes to how the game plays are planned for patch 16.3.

Riot Prism announced that significant changes addressing major design issues are planned for the upcoming patch 16.3. In the meantime, they wished everyone a happy new year and playfully encouraged consistency in pursuing New Year’s resolutions, suggesting that playing Sett can help you grow stronger or increase your attack speed.
