Fans of the BBC show The Traitors think a recurring detail is a major clue about a future surprise. They believe this element has appeared multiple times and is likely connected to an upcoming plot twist.
This season of the popular show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, has been packed with surprises, including a mother-daughter pair, a hidden romance, and the very first undercover Traitor.
Fans now believe the clues to the mystery might be hidden in plain sight. The camera has repeatedly focused on a bookcase, specifically a book titled ‘Who’s Who 1934’, leading them to think it holds the answer.
Viewers watching BBC programs noticed a strange book appearing repeatedly since the show began last week and quickly discussed it on X (formerly Twitter).
They wrote: ‘Am guessing this book has a list of who already knew who and who is related to who;
I don’t understand why this book is being repeatedly highlighted. It seems like the strategy is obvious from its pages. The group consists of 19 people believed to be loyal, 3 known betrayers, and 4 who are actually working against us.

During the episode, viewers and the Traitors discovered the identity of the first secret Traitor: Fiona Hughes, who was revealed at the red clock.
Fiona, a Swansea local government employee known as ‘lovely Fiona’ and described as energetic and fun-loving, was surprisingly revealed to be the show’s villain in the very first episode by host Claudia.
Oh my gosh, you guys, she was SO good at playing everyone! Everyone thought she was just sweet and lovely, but then they revealed her true colors, and it was AMAZING! She actually told Claudia she was going to be as backstabbing as possible – can you believe it?! And the way she said it, all giddy and declaring she was ‘drunk on power’? Seriously, chills! It was just…wonderful. I’m obsessed with her villainy!
Honestly, when they revealed Fiona was the Traitor, my jaw dropped just as much as Stephen and Rachel’s did! I mean, Stephen Libby, he’s 32, and Rachel Duffy is 42… they were completely floored, just like the rest of us. It was unbelievable that sweet Fiona was playing us all along!
She happily and boastfully told the other actors, ‘I was amazing, right? I’m sure Hollywood will want me now… I’ve really been carrying the show these past few nights.’
Rachel admitted she felt anxious about Fiona joining, predicting Fiona would cause some disruption. Stephen agreed, noting that Fiona was performing well.
She was the one who exposed Hugo Bailey, 51, as a Traitor in episode three, leading to his removal from the Scottish castle.
During the show, personal trainer Ross Garshong was unexpectedly eliminated in a morning discussion round.

That wasn’t the only surprise. Right after that, fellow contestant and psychologist Dr. Ellie Buckley announced she was actually his girlfriend.
After being eliminated following a breakfast meeting, Ellie shared her sadness, revealing that Ross, 37, is actually her boyfriend.
Viewers started to wonder if the two characters knew each other as soon as they got on the train in the Scottish Highlands during the first episode, which aired last Wednesday.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen countless first encounters, and let me tell you, this one felt a little off. These two Londoners were sitting across from each other, and honestly, viewers – and I – couldn’t help but notice how comfortable they seemed. It just didn’t quite ring true that they were meeting for the very first time; they seemed way too familiar with each other!
A photo from a work trip in June 2024 recently appeared, showing Ellie and Ross together and proving they had met before filming the show.
Since finishing filming in May, both of them have shared vacation photos from the same spot in Tenerife.
This is the second hidden relationship revealed on the show. Earlier, it was discovered that Judy Wilson, 60, who has already been eliminated, and Roxy, 32, are actually mother and daughter.
Ross felt unfairly targeted from the start, explaining he was ‘dealt a bad hand’ because he knew Netty Österberg, 42, and immediately came under suspicion.

They discovered they had friends in common from when they both lived in London, but hadn’t run into each other for more than a decade, making their meeting a pleasant surprise.
During background checks, BBC executives discovered that Ms. Österberg and Mr. Garshong were social media connections, but the relationship seemed insignificant. They decided this wasn’t a reason to exclude either of them from being cast.
According to Mike Cotton, Creative Director at Studio Lambert, the players weren’t told about the opening scene beforehand. The team wanted to capture their genuine, first-time reactions and observe how they responded during the game, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The Traitors continues on January 8 at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
