For years, people have been hoping for another Ocean’s movie – an Ocean’s Fourteen, if you will. Lately, those rumors have been gaining traction, and it now seems very likely that a new film in the series is happening. While details are still scarce and it won’t be released in 2026, we’ve learned that most of the original cast – including George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Brad Pitt – are expected to return. Here’s a rundown of what we know, and why it’s generating excitement.
When Will Ocean’s Fourteen Be Released?

As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for Ocean’s Fourteen. George Clooney mentioned in October 2025 that Warner Bros. has given the movie a green light financially, and filming could start in about nine to ten months. Coordinating schedules for all the returning stars might be challenging, but they’re aiming to stick to that timeline.
Predicting the movie’s release date is difficult, but late 2027 is a possible timeframe if everything stays on track.
The Big Stars Will Likely Be Returning

It seems very likely that George Clooney (who played Danny Ocean) will return for another film, as he’s been publicly discussing it the most. Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle are also expected to reprise their roles. Brad Pitt suggested he’d be involved back in June, while Matt Damon has been less forthcoming about his participation.
The movie’s cast includes familiar faces beyond the main stars. Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Qin Shaobo, and Eddie Jemison have all been in the previous three films and are likely to return. Elliott Gould, who made a cameo in 2025’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story (available on Netflix), is an original cast member and might reappear. Andy Garcia was also in all three of the earlier movies.
While Al Pacino and Catherine Zeta-Jones weren’t in the original Ocean’s Eleven, they joined the cast in the sequels—Zeta-Jones in the second film and Pacino in the third. Other notable actors like Eddie Izzard, Ellen Barkin, and Vincent Cassel all appeared in Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen, and of course, there’s the entire cast of Ocean’s 8. With Sandra Bullock playing Danny Ocean’s sister in the spinoff, many possibilities exist for future films—it really feels like anything could happen.
Since the release of Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007, we’ve sadly lost several members of the original cast. This includes Hollywood icon Carl Reiner, father of the late Rob Reiner, who passed away in 2020, and the talented Bernie Mac, who died in 2008 at the age of 50. Robbie Coltrane and Albert Finney, both of whom were in Ocean’s 12, have also passed away.
We’ll keep a close eye on any casting announcements in the coming weeks and months.
David Leitch Is Expected To Direct Ocean’s Fourteen

David Leitch is set to direct the next film in the series. He’s become a well-known director since his uncredited work on the original John Wick in 2014. Over the past ten years, he’s directed several popular movies, including Atomic Blonde (2017), Deadpool 2 (2018), Hobbs & Shaw (2019), Bullet Train (2022) with Brad Pitt, and The Fall Guy (2024). He’s also working on a heist film called How to Rob a Bank (scheduled for 2026), starring Zoë Kravitz, Pete Davidson, and Nicholas Hoult, giving him plenty of experience with action and thieves.
Steven Soderbergh, the director of the first three films, will be a producer on this project. He’s been consistently releasing movies – at least one per year since 2017, with two planned for 2025 – so it makes sense he’s stepping back from directing for now.
What Will The Plot Of Ocean’s Fourteen Be?

We don’t yet know who’s writing the script, but Brad Pitt has described the project as “really good.” Considering how often his characters eat on screen, that’s a promising sign!
I’m really excited about the new Ocean’s movie! Clooney’s said they’re not going to pretend like the crew hasn’t aged – it’s been nearly 20 years since we last saw them pull off a heist, so that makes sense. He even mentioned in an interview with Variety that he got the idea from the movie Going In Style, which is about older thieves, and I think that’s a great touch. It’ll be fun to see how they handle that aspect of it!
So long as the movie has a fun heist and some excellent one-liners, I’m confident it’ll be great.
There Is Also An Ocean’s Prequel Starring Margot Robbie In The Works

Fans of the Ocean’s films have more than just Ocean’s Fourteen to anticipate. News began circulating in early 2024 about a new Ocean’s movie set in the 1960s, starring Margot Robbie. Rumors suggested Ryan Gosling would also star, playing the parents of Danny Ocean alongside Robbie.
I was so excited to hear more about the potential prequel back in October 2025! It sounds like Ryan Gosling won’t be involved, but Bradley Cooper is being considered, which is fantastic news, honestly. I’m seriously hyped for this – maybe even as much as I am for Fourteen! You see, the Ocean’s movies have a special place in my heart, starting all the way back in 1960 with the original Ocean’s 11 and the Rat Pack. It’s a classic!
Both movies are still some time away from release, but until then, it’s a great time to revisit the 2001 film Ocean’s Eleven, which is available on Paramount+. I’m planning to watch it again myself soon!
