Tyler Perry’s latest movie, Joe’s College Road Trip, is coming to Netflix very soon, and it’s a first for the franchise. Netflix has announced that Tyler Perry’s ‘Joe’s College Road Trip’ will premiere on February 13th. This film marks a new direction for the ‘Madea’ series, centering on Madea’s brother, Joe, as he joins his grandson, B.J., on a road trip. Tyler Perry stars as both Madea and Joe, alongside Jermaine Harris as B.J., with Amber Reign Smith, Bethany Anne Lind, Jeremy Gimenez, and Millie Jackson also featured in the cast.

Tyler Perry first introduced the iconic character Madea in his 1999 stage play, I Can Do Bad All by Myself. She later appeared on the big screen in the 2005 film Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Since then, there have been over a dozen Madea movies, and the series has continued with Perry’s partnership with Netflix. Their first Madea film together was A Madea Homecoming, released in 2022.

Perry directed the popular Netflix film The Six Triple Eight, even though it received mixed reviews. He also created the ongoing series Beauty in Black for Netflix. The second part of Beauty in Black season 2 will be released on March 19, 2026, just after the new season of One Piece and before the premiere of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
