Here’s how to download this mid-season patch ahead of time.

Hey everyone, good news! The Season 20 mid-season patch for Overwatch 2 is available to download now, before it officially goes live. I just got it set up, and it was pretty easy. I’ll walk you through how to download it, and even how to set things up so future patches download automatically. Let’s get this update rolling!

Overwatch 2 Season 20 mid-season download

The new mid-season update for Overwatch 2 is now available to pre-download before its official release on January 8th. According to community manager Megan Leigh, this update will also make the game’s file size smaller.

To help players get started faster, PlayStation and Xbox might let you download the game files a little early. Any problems this early download causes with your storage space will automatically fix themselves when the full game launches.

Just a reminder, everyone! Leigh announced on X that the midseason hitting update for Season 20 will be released on Thursday, January 8th. This update is a significant one, as it’s a complete rebuild of certain game elements.
