Samantha Armytage is entering her influencer era.
After sharing a post about KFC on Instagram, the TV personality jokingly requested a lifetime supply of their fried chicken.
The brand noticed the 49-year-old when he wore a KFC bucket on his head at a cricket game – a popular and playful Aussie custom many fans enjoy.
Oh my gosh, she finally posted! Sam just shared the most amazing selfie on Instagram – she was having a beer and, get this, WEARING THE CAP! And the caption? So cheeky, it totally made my day! I screenshotted it immediately, obviously.
She jokingly posted, ‘I’m a regular person, really!’ She then added, ‘Although, I should be getting paid to say that. And for the record, I’m not dating anyone named The Colonel.’
KFC’s official account noticed the post, replying to Sam’s comment: ‘Queen of the buckethead’.
Sam posted a screenshot of the conversation to their Instagram Stories and playfully asked KFC for a lifetime supply of free food, tagging the brand in the post.
The TV personality continued to show her support by posting another picture – this time wearing the bucket as a hat.
She also added another cheeky caption that read, ‘Never forget’ while once again tagging KFC.
Sam was welcomed back to Today after appearing as a guest on the show several times over the last year.
The former host of a popular breakfast television show has been filling in over the holidays while the usual hosts, Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo, are on extended Christmas vacation.
Sam has been sharing hosting duties on Today alongside Nova radio star Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli.
Sam became well-known as the host of the popular morning show, Sunrise. In 2021, she surprised everyone by announcing her departure from both the show and the network.
Jumping ship to Nine in 2024, there was much speculation Sam would replace Sarah Abo.
The TV veteran appeared on 2GB with Ben Fordham in October, where she was asked about the rumours.
She started by explaining to Ben that these kinds of stories are often deliberately spread, then told him she’d recently met with Sarah and offered her support after the news broke.
I recently saw Sarah at the Nine Upfronts event. We hugged, and I asked her if she was doing alright.
‘She’s good. Sarah and Karl are fantastic,’ Sam added of the current Today line-up.
She then stood her ground, revealing that her hosting stint on The Golden Bachelor was her focus.
