
The new horror movie Primate, about a deadly ape, is getting great reviews and a high score on Rotten Tomatoes. FandomWire’s Sean Boelman described the movie as consistently fun, saying it delivers exactly what fans want: a fast-paced, energetic, and unpretentious experience.
Chris Tilly from Dexerto described the movie as a really enjoyable horror film featuring a chimpanzee versus some irritating teenagers. He also praised its excellent practical effects and said it successfully delivered on its initial promise to audiences.
In a review for Daily Dead, Matt Donato described the movie Primate as a relentlessly entertaining creature feature. He praised its focus on delivering simple thrills – a menacing animal and over-the-top deaths – making it pure, enjoyable popcorn cinema.
Primate centers around Lucy, a college student who comes home to her family and their chimpanzee, Ben. During a vacation with Lucy and her friends, Ben is bitten by an animal with rabies, causing him to become increasingly violent. Lucy and her friends are then forced to protect themselves by barricading themselves in a pool while desperately trying to survive Ben’s attacks.
