Star-Lord Set for Surprising MCU Return in Disney+ TV Show — Report

As predicted by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, will be back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though his return will be in a surprising project that fans didn’t foresee.

Which MCU Disney+ show will Star-Lord appear in?

According to James Mack, a reliable source on X (formerly Twitter), Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, will appear in the upcoming VisionQuest project. This is unexpected, as Star-Lord and Vision have never interacted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Mack is generally accurate, fans should remember that these reports aren’t always confirmed, so it’s best to view this information cautiously. He is expected to then join the Avengers in Avengers: Doomsday.

VisionQuest, created by Terry Matalas (who also runs Star Trek: Picard), continues the stories of both WandaVision and Agatha All Along. It follows Vision as he tries to make sense of his recovered memories after the events of WandaVision.

As a critic, I’m really excited to see some familiar faces returning for this series! Not only is Bettany back, but James Spader is reprising his chilling role as Ultron, and James D’Arcy will once again be the voice of Jarvis. Plus, a fantastic blast from the past – Faran Tahir is coming back as Raza, a character he played way back in the original Iron Man! It’s great to see the show bringing back these actors and weaving in that history.

Ruaridh Mollica is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Tommy Maximoff, also known as Speed. He’s the super-fast son of Vision and Wanda, and in the ‘Agatha All Along’ finale, his spirit ended up in the body of a teenager named Thomas Shepherd. The upcoming series, VisionQuest, will also feature several artificial intelligence programs created by Tony Stark, including E.D.I.T.H., F.R.I.D.A.Y., and D.U.M.-E.

VisionQuest is a new sci-fi series coming to Disney+ in late 2026 as part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will have eight episodes, making it slightly shorter than both WandaVision and Agatha All Along.

Chris Pratt plays Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He first appeared as the character in the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy and went on to reprise the role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023).

Chris Pratt reprised his role as Star-Lord in several Marvel films, including Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder. He also appeared in the Disney+ special The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Different versions of the character have been featured in the animated Disney+ series What If…?, with Brian T. Delaney providing the voice for all of them.
