How Miranda Kerr’s clever text helped her snag billionaire husband Evan Spiegel

Miranda Kerr shared that a simple text message is how she first connected with her husband, billionaire Evan Spiegel.

They first met in 2014 while sitting together at a stylish Louis Vuitton event in Los Angeles.

At dinner, 42-year-old Candice Swanepoel, a former Victoria’s Secret Angel, apparently shared with Evan Spiegel, the founder of Snapchat, that her favorite song is “Spiegel im Spiegel” by Arvo Pärt.

The night concluded with them swapping phone numbers, but a month later, 35-year-old Spiegel hadn’t reached out to the well-known woman, either by call or text.

A recent interview revealed that Miranda took the initiative and messaged the businessman, simply asking, ‘Have you ever listened to the song ‘Spiegel im Spiegel’?’

Miranda was still recovering from her divorce from actor Orlando Bloom, which had been finalized in 2013 after three years of marriage.

Spiegel later admitted to the Wall Street Journal that he hadn’t contacted the model, believing he didn’t stand a chance with her.

Miranda recently told the Sydney Morning Herald that she and her husband, who married in 2017, were close friends before they began their romantic relationship.

Miranda and Spiegel now share three children – Hart, seven, Myles, six, and Pierre, 19 months.

This follows Miranda’s unexpected appearance as a weather presenter on the Los Angeles morning show, Good Day LA, last month, which surprised her fans.

Meteorologist Maria Corbin introduced Miranda to viewers via a breaking news alert.

We have some urgent news to share,” said Maria Corbin, introducing our weather presenter. But before she could finish, the model excitedly interrupted, cheerfully announcing her name with a distinctly Australian accent.

‘Miranda Kerr, from Down Under,’ she said. ‘Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.’

Maria explained that they enjoy helping people achieve their goals, and Miranda has always wanted to be a weather presenter.

Miranda replied excitedly: ‘Yes, I have! Thank you for making my dream come true.’

I was so impressed watching her step into her new job! She just flawlessly delivered the news about the cold front and possible storm to everyone in Los Angeles – it was like she’d been doing it forever.

‘It’s cold this morning, so make sure you get your jumper, as we say in Australia,’ Miranda said.

Miranda’s latest job opportunity comes shortly after she publicly discussed the breakup between her former partner, Orlando Bloom, and Katy Perry.

Miranda revealed on the Kyle and Jackie O Show in September that she and her partner had separated on good terms.

‘Was it mutual?’ host Kyle Sandilands asked.

Yes, I actually saw them both just over the weekend. We were celebrating their daughter Daisy’s birthday,” Miranda shared.

‘We’re one big, happy family. Katy is amazing, I love her. And Orlando obviously,’ she continued.

Miranda, who shares parenting responsibilities for her 14-year-old son Flynn with Orlando, emphasized the importance of an amicable separation, particularly when children are concerned.

‘If you do have animosity, it only hurts yourself,’ she added.

Miranda and Orlando were engaged in 2010 and were married that same year.

The couple welcomed son Flynn in January 2011, but announced their separation in October 2013.
