Aled Jones’ daughter Emilia stuns in a corset as she joins glamorous Mia Goth and Erin Doherty leading the British stars at the Critics Choice

Aled Jones’ daughter, Emilia Jones, turned heads at the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, wearing a striking strapless corset top and long maxi skirt. She was among the British celebrities attending the event.

The 23-year-old actress made a striking appearance on the red carpet, alongside Mia Goth and Erin Doherty, at an event held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

I was completely captivated by Emilia’s outfit! She looked incredible in a black, lace-up top, and she really pulled the whole look together with some seriously high heels and a bold, chunky silver and black necklace. It was a stunning combination!

Actress Mia, 32, known for her role in Frankenstein, looked elegant in a white satin gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves.

I just loved how she styled her dark hair – that neat updo was perfect! And the simple gold earrings were such a lovely touch to complete her look. It was effortlessly chic, honestly.

Erin, age 33, is nominated for a best supporting actress award for her work in the Netflix series Adolescence. She turned heads at the event in a striking green satin gown.

The Emmy-winning actress appeared cheerful while posing on the crowded red carpet, wearing a striking strapless dress with a full, pleated skirt.

She styled her hair in a neat updo, paired it with white heels, and finished the look with sparkling silver earrings.

Jessie Buckley stunned in a white satin top with a halter neckline, featuring long, flowing bows that cascaded down her leg.

The 36-year-old actress, nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Hamnet, paired the striking outfit with classic black trousers and heels.

Jessie smiled brightly for the cameras and styled her short hair into a neat side-swept look, highlighting her large, sparkling earrings.

Charlie Hunnam, up for Best Actor for his performance in Monster: The Ed Gein Story, looked sharp in a classic black suit.

Twelve-year-old Jacobi Jupe, nominated for Best Young Actor for his role in Hamnet, smiled brightly while posing for photos on the red carpet.

I was so impressed with how put-together the actor looked at the event! It’s amazing to think he’s Noah Jupe’s younger brother – the star of ‘The Night Agent,’ no less! He really seemed to fit in with all the other big names there.

Leo Woodall, the 29-year-old star of One Day, looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo with a white shirt and bow tie.

Paul Mescal, known for his role in “Hamnet,” seemed cheerful as he arrived at the red carpet event before the Best Supporting Actor winner was announced.

Awards season is starting with a glamorous event in Hollywood! The 31st annual Critics Choice Awards will be held this Sunday, January 4th, in Santa Monica.

Chelsea Handler is hosting the awards show for the fourth year in a row. The glamorous event, held at Barker Hangar, is known for showcasing the potential frontrunners for the upcoming awards season.

The Critics Choice Awards are well-known in Hollywood for reliably predicting the winners of the Oscars.

Last season proved just how accurate those predictions were. Despite not winning at the Golden Globes or SAG Awards, Anora gained significant traction after winning the Critics Choice Best Picture award, and that momentum continued all the way to its success at the Academy Awards.

As a lifestyle expert, I always keep an eye on award season, and it was lovely to see Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, and Zoe Saldaña continue their winning streak! They each took home a Critics Choice award and then brilliantly repeated that success at the Oscars – a testament to their incredible talent, wouldn’t you agree?

Since the Golden Globes aren’t on TV until January 11th, the Critics Choice Awards will be the first big awards show of 2026. This gives movie and TV studios, and the shows and actors hoping to win awards, an important early advantage.

According to Critics Choice Association CEO Joey Berlin, the awards show highlights the best movies and TV shows of the year. He also explained that the organization’s voters play a key role in helping viewers discover exceptional stories.

Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ is the frontrunner this year, earning an impressive 17 nominations for both films and TV shows. This puts it just behind ‘Barbie,’ which received a record-breaking 18 nominations in 2024.

Following closely behind are ‘One Battle After Another’ with 14 nominations, and both ‘Hamnet’ and ‘Frankenstein’ with 11 each.

Other strong possibilities for the award are Marty Supreme, Wicked: For Good, Sentimental Value, Train Dreams, Jay Kelly, and Bugonia.

This year’s Best Actor category is highly competitive, featuring strong performances from Timothée Chalamet in “Marty Supreme,” Leonardo DiCaprio in “One Battle After Another,” Joel Edgerton in “Train Dreams,” Ethan Hawke in “Blue Moon,” Michael B. Jordan in “Sinners,” and Wagner Moura in “The Secret Agent.”

I’m so excited about this year’s Best Actress nominations! I’ve been completely captivated by Jessie Buckley in ‘Hamnet,’ and Rose Byrne’s performance in ‘If I Had Legs I’d Kick You’ was incredible. Chase Infiniti really blew me away in ‘One Battle After Another,’ and I’ve heard amazing things about Renate Reinsve’s work in ‘Sentimental Value.’ Of course, Amanda Seyfried in ‘The Testament of Ann Lee’ is phenomenal, and I’m a huge fan of Emma Stone, so I’m thrilled to see her nominated for ‘Bugonia’ too! It’s such a strong lineup.

The nominees for Best Supporting Actor are Benicio Del Toro for One Battle After Another, Jacob Elordi for Frankenstein, Paul Mescal for Hamnet, Sean Penn for One Battle After Another, Adam Sandler for Jay Kelly, and Stellan Skarsgård for Sentimental Value.

The nominees for Best Supporting Actress are Elle Fanning for ‘Sentimental Value’, Ariana Grande for ‘Wicked: For Good’, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas for ‘Sentimental Value’, Amy Madigan for ‘Weapons’, Wunmi Mosaku for ‘Sinners’, and Teyana Taylor for ‘One Battle After Another’.

On the television side, the acting races are just as competitive.

The leading actors nominated for best Drama Series include Sterling K. Brown for Paradise, Adam Scott for Severance, Diego Luna for Andor, Billy Bob Thornton for Landman, and Keri Russell for The Diplomat. Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us) and Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age) also delivered noteworthy performances.

The comedy categories feature both well-known stars and exciting new faces. Nominees include Adam Brody and Kristen Bell for Nobody Wants This, Ted Danson for A Man on the Inside, Jean Smart for Hacks, Danny McBride for The Righteous Gemstones, and Seth Rogen for The Studio.

The leading contenders for limited series and TV movie awards include Stephen Graham for ‘Adolescence,’ Brian Tyree Henry for ‘Dope Thief,’ Charlie Hunnam for ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story,’ Sarah Snook for ‘All Her Fault,’ Michelle Williams for ‘Dying for Sex,’ and Renée Zellweger for ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’.

The supporting actor and actress categories boast impressive performances from Tramell Tillman (Severance), Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), Allison Janney (The Diplomat), Hannah Einbinder (Hacks), Janelle James (Abbott Elementary), Julianne Moore (Sirens), and Nick Offerman (Death by Lightning).

On television, ‘Adolescence’ is the frontrunner with six nominations, while ‘Nobody Wants This’ is close behind with five.

Popular titles such as The Diplomat, Hacks, The Pitt, All Her Fault, and Ghosts also performed very well.

Major film and TV studios are fiercely competing for recognition, with Warner Bros. receiving the most film nominations and Netflix leading in television nominations.

This year’s event will feature four new award categories: Best Variety Series, Casting, Stunt Design, and Sound.

On the red carpet, expect a parade of A-listers.

Stars like Timothée Chalamet, Emma Stone, and Ariana Grande are anticipated to be at the event, along with presenters such as Colman Domingo, Regina Hall, Diego Luna, Allison Janney, Kaley Cuoco, Ava DuVernay, Bradley Whitford, and Billy Bob Thornton.

The Critics Choice Awards began in 1995, created by the Broadcast Film Critics Association. This group started as a small team of about 60 film journalists who wanted to celebrate outstanding movies.

The organization grew to also cover TV and streaming, and shows and films that won here – like La La Land, Nomadland, and Everything Everywhere All at Once – often went on to win Oscars as well.

What started as a small meeting has grown into a large, glamorous event held at the Barker Hangar, attracting hundreds of celebrities and excited fans hoping to see the first major awards of the season.

The 31st Critics Choice Awards also represent Jo Koy’s return to E! – the network where she hosted her talk show for eight years.

The show has had different hosts each year recently. Taye Diggs hosted from 2019 to 2021, and in 2022, he co-hosted with Nicole Byer.

The show has previously been hosted by a variety of talented individuals, including Olivia Munn, T.J. Miller, Michael Strahan, Aisha Tyler, Kristin Chenoweth, and D.L. Hughley.

Actor Eric McCormack served as the ceremony’s first-ever host in 2005.

The Critics Choice Awards will be broadcast live on USA Network and E! on Sunday, January 4th, starting at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. This marks the 31st year of the awards show.
