2026 Sets Up A Surreal $12 Billion Record For The MCU’s Hulk

As a huge Marvel fan, I’m still holding out hope to see the Hulk in Avengers: Doomsday, but even if he doesn’t show up, 2026 is still predicted to be a massive year for the character financially – we’re talking over $12 billion! It’s a little strange though, when you look at the Hulk’s movie history within the MCU. There are a lot of reasons why Marvel hasn’t really been able to make another dedicated Hulk movie, which is a bummer because I’d love to see more of him!

Because of this, the Hulk has mostly played a supporting role, connecting different storylines and giving fans another familiar face from the original Avengers team. It’s surprising, then, that 2026 is predicted to bring in a record $12 billion for the character, especially considering how little time he’s actually been featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Hulk’s MCU History Has An Almost $12 Billion Box Office Record – Even Though The Hero Hasn’t Had His Own Film Series

Although the Hulk hasn’t had many solo movies, he’s been a huge box office draw for the MCU thanks to his appearances in team-up films with other heroes.

While The Incredible Hulk movie itself only earned about $265 million worldwide, the Hulk’s appearances across the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe have brought in a total of $11.3 billion at the box office (according to The Numbers). This is because the Hulk has been featured in many of the MCU’s most successful films.

Movie Name Worldwide Box Office
Avengers: Endgame $2.7 billion
Avengers: Infinity War $2 billion
The Avengers $1.5 billion
Avengers: Age Of Ultron $1.3 billion
Iron Man 3 $1.2 billion
Captain Marvel $1.1 billion
Thor: Ragnarok $850 million
Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings $432 million
The Incredible Hulk $265 million

Even without including his brief appearances in films like Iron Man 3, Captain Marvel, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings, the Hulk has still generated $8.5 billion at the box office in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s an incredible amount, especially considering he hasn’t starred in his own series of movies like many other popular MCU heroes.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Looks Set To Make The Hulk’s MCU Movie Record Even More Surreal

Even the lowest-grossing Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man: Homecoming, earned an impressive $878 million worldwide. Considering this, projections show the Hulk’s total MCU box office revenue will reach $12 billion by 2026, boosted by his upcoming role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

It’s possible that Spider-Man: Brand New Day could earn as much as $13 billion at the box office, surpassing the Hulk’s record. This would require around $1.8 billion in ticket sales, which is achievable considering the previous Spider-Man: No Way Home film already reached that level.

Since the Hulk is still a popular character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and doesn’t seem to be leaving anytime soon, it will be fascinating to watch how successful his movies become in the future, even if he mostly appears in team-up films alongside other heroes.
