Landman Season 2 Just Guaranteed Its Best Billy Bob Thornton Story

Season 2 of Landman is building towards another wedding for Tommy Norris, and Episode 7 brought significant changes for Billy Bob Thornton’s character. In “Forever Is an Instant,” Tommy finally stops arguing with his ex-wife, Angela (Ali Larter), and they reconcile by the pool, avoiding another tense dinner.

Even though it received mixed reactions, the second season of Landman proved very popular. Paramount+ announced that the premiere episode drew 9.2 million viewers in just two days, making it the most-watched original series premiere in the platform’s history. With a third season already planned, the show may be setting up future storylines, either for the upcoming season or to wrap up the events of Season 2.

Landman Season 2 Episode 7 Officially Sets Up Tommy And Angela’s Second Marriage

As a huge fan, I’m getting so excited! It’s still a little unclear exactly when it will happen, but it definitely looks like Tommy and Angela are heading for a remarriage. The show has been hinting at it for a while, and after Episode 7, ‘Forever Is an Instant,’ it feels pretty official – things are really moving in that direction, and I’m starting to think we might actually see wedding bells soon!

Okay, so things get really interesting in the show. Angela decides to hand down her engagement ring – yes, that ring – to her son, Cooper, so he can finally propose to Ariana. Apparently, Cooper had to ask about a ring, and Angela’s response was… well, pretty Angela. She basically told him he could have hers, but with the charming little addendum that it’s ‘tainted with the stench of failure.’ You gotta love her honesty, even if it’s a little brutal!

Angela wants to return her engagement ring because it reminds her more of her split with Tommy than their commitment. After speaking with Cooper, she decided she needs a new one, and this could lead to bigger changes she’s been suggesting throughout the season.

Angela becomes furious with her ex-husband when he tells Gallino he’s attracted to her, after spotting them together at the Cattleman’s Club. What really bothers Angela, though, is when Tommy reveals her ex-husband referred to her as his wife, despite them no longer being married but still living like they are.

Angela misinterpreted Tommy’s comment about living like a married couple as a marriage proposal. She quickly asked him if he was proposing, and after some hesitation, he confirmed. Although this moment provided some humor and hasn’t been brought up since, viewers can anticipate another wedding for Tommy, as Angela fully expects him to remarry.

Cooper Proposing To Ariana In Landman Season 2 Prompted Tommy’s Potential Engagement

Tommy isn’t the only one planning a wedding – Cooper recently proposed to Ariana at the end of the show, and Norris Jr.’s engagement is what got his parents thinking about their own. Cooper asking his mom about engagement rings actually made her reflect on her own marriage and ring.

Okay, so Angela officially gave Cooper the ring, and seeing her finger empty in the next episode of Landman is really making me think she’s going to go all-in on her plans! Tommy’s still causing trouble for Norris, which is classic Tommy, but honestly, I don’t think that’ll deter Angela from getting herself a new ring at all. She seems pretty determined!

Cooper followed in his father’s footsteps after proposing to Ariana, recreating a romantic surprise just like his dad did for his mom – taking her to see George Strait in Lubbock. Now, fans are hoping Tommy will propose to Angela again with a similarly special moment, potentially leading to two weddings in the future of the show, Landman.
