Lauren Silverman posted a photo with her fiancé, Simon Cowell, expressing her gratitude for their relationship as they look forward to 2026.
Even though she appears cheerful in photos, the 48-year-old American businesswoman admits that New Year’s can be a lonely and challenging time for her, as she’s chosen to stop drinking.
The couple, getting married later this year, celebrated the holiday at their Barbados home and posted a photo by the pool.
On Wednesday, she posted a photo on her new Instagram account of Simon, 66, wearing only pale blue shorts.
The former X Factor judge wore his usual aviator sunglasses while Lauren wrapped her arms around him.
Lauren, now legally known as Cowell, looked effortlessly stylish in a black swimsuit, sarong, and sunglasses.

The photo showed a beautiful setting where they celebrated both Christmas and New Year’s Day in the sunshine.
Oh my gosh, did you SEE Lauren’s post about Simon?! It was EVERYTHING. She basically said how incredibly lucky she is to be with him as the year changed, like he’s the most amazing person ever. And then she wished everyone a Happy New Year and said she hopes things will be beautiful… clearly meaning their relationship! I’m seriously melting. It’s so sweet and obvious how much she adores him, and I’m living for it!
She also shared how difficult it can be to abstain from alcohol during festive occasions, especially when everyone else is celebrating with drinks.
Lauren shared that this is her second New Year’s Eve not drinking, and admitted that evenings like these can sometimes feel lonely and challenging.
It can be tough being the only one not drinking, especially when everyone else is celebrating. But staying sober is worth it. If you’re working on it, finding it hard, or even just considering it, I understand. I’ve been there, and you can do this.
Wishing you a year filled with clear thinking, mindful living, inner strength, and self-acceptance. Let’s take things one day at a time.
Last month, Lauren marked a year of being sober and thought about how much better her relationships and mental well-being have become since she stopped drinking.
She shared on social media that she stopped drinking a year ago, and openly discussed with her followers how her life has changed since then.
She shared that getting sober allowed her to be more present and supportive for her kids and her partner, Simon, and also led to better sleep, a more positive outlook, and increased self-assurance.

Lauren, who shares 11-year-old Eric with Simon and 19-year-old Adam with her former spouse, explained that giving up alcohol has allowed her to go out and have fun without worrying about regretting her actions the next day.
Although she was nervous about opening up about her journey to sobriety, she decided to share her story publicly because she was proud of how far she’d come and wanted to inspire others who might be considering getting sober.
She shared that yesterday was her one-year anniversary of being alcohol-free, and she had hesitated about whether or not to share the news.
Ultimately, I’m glad I did it. If my experience can help just one other person who’s going through something similar, then speaking up was the right thing to do.
I stopped drinking for a year, and it’s had a surprisingly positive impact on my life. I’ve noticed I’m thinking more clearly, can focus better, sleep more soundly, and feel more emotionally stable. I also have more energy and confidence, and I genuinely enjoy socializing without worrying about what I might have said the night before.
Honestly, seeing Lauren talk about getting sober has been so amazing. She said it’s helped her figure out who she really is, and even more importantly, it’s made her realize how much her family and friends mean to her. It’s like she can finally focus on what truly matters, and it’s just…beautiful to watch. I’m so proud of her!
She explained that it brought a sense of calm she hadn’t realized she needed. It’s made her more focused and allowed her to be a better parent, partner, and friend to those she cares about.
It’s been surprisingly good for my mental wellbeing, and I’ve also gained a lot of self-awareness through the process.

I’ve always loved how she puts things. She wasn’t trying to tell anyone what to do, but she shared that if something’s been on your mind, even just a little bit, you really should give it a try – you might be amazed at how wonderful it can feel!
‘Here’s to growth, clarity, and doing what’s right for YOU ❤️’.
This post appears just a week after Lauren started her Instagram account, and notably, she chose to use the last name Cowell as her username.
It seems this goes beyond just a social media update – The Sun reports she’s legally changed her name to his, even though they haven’t gotten married yet.
Lauren reportedly decided to legally change her last name to Cowell so she and her fiancé could share a last name with their son.
The report says that while Simon Cowell still enjoys a drink, his partner Lauren has motivated him to reduce his alcohol consumption, and he has reportedly been drinking less in recent years.
He has spoken openly about starting to smoke and drink when he was only eight years old. He also shared that he used to drink vodka, sometimes as early as one or two in the morning, to relax and help him think creatively.
After a 2020 electric bike accident near his Malibu home left him with multiple broken bones in his back, the actor completely changed his way of life.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge narrowly avoided paralysis in a serious accident and required six hours of surgery, including the insertion of a metal rod to support his spine.
Let me tell you, going through a tough time really forced me to prioritize my health. I completely revamped my lifestyle – I’m now consistent with sleep and exercise, and I eat a mostly plant-based diet. I also made a big switch – I traded alcohol for water, and honestly, it’s made a huge difference. I’ve lost around four stone, and I feel fantastic!
Simon’s relationship with Lauren will be closely examined in his upcoming Netflix docuseries, “The Next Act.” Sources say the show will offer a very honest and unfiltered look at their relationship, showing both the good and the bad.
The new six-episode show premieres next Wednesday and documents a well-known musician’s search for bandmates. Lauren, who usually keeps to herself, will be appearing frequently throughout the series.
At first, she wasn’t sure about joining the show, but it will quickly become clear how important she is to Simon’s life.
According to a source, being filmed for the show will be a turning point for Lauren. She wasn’t enthusiastic at first, but the film crew was constantly present, making it unavoidable. Ultimately, they decided it was best to show viewers the genuine side of both Lauren and Simon, flaws and all.
The show features a heated argument between the couple that creates a really tense and awkward moment. Viewers will clearly see how important she is to Simon, and how genuine their relationship truly is.
Simon may believe he’s the one in charge, but it’s clear she contributes a lot to the relationship and has a remarkably soothing effect on him.
A preview of the show reveals a heated argument between the couple about whether Simon will go to Lauren’s son Adam’s graduation.
In the short video, she seems incredibly frustrated with Simon, who is sitting weakly in a chair while receiving vitamins through an IV.
Lauren says she doesn’t complain and is simply there for the people she loves, because that’s what you do in a loving relationship.

She requested her microphone be taken away and immediately left the room. Simon could then be heard saying, “Oh, Lauren.”
Lauren and her now-husband first crossed paths in Barbados back in 2004. However, they didn’t begin their romantic relationship until about 2012, when Lauren was still married to Andrew Silverman, a wealthy real estate developer.
Honestly, everything shifted for Simon at the end of July 2013. It was all over the news – Lauren was pregnant! With little Eric! I remember being completely shocked, but also… fascinated. It just changed everything for him, you could feel it. It was like his whole world revolved around this news, and honestly, so did mine. I followed every detail!
In 2015, Simon admitted to Mail on Sunday Event magazine that he wasn’t happy with how things had unfolded, saying he felt ashamed of the situation.
He confessed the pregnancy wasn’t something he’d anticipated, but he recalled attending the first ultrasound scan with Lauren.
I nicknamed him Tad because he reminded me of a tadpole. Then, suddenly, a strong protective feeling washed over me for both him and his brother. I realized I really wanted him – a feeling I hadn’t recognized before.
I was so surprised when Simon Cowell announced his engagement! He always said marriage wasn’t for him, but then he met Lauren and everything changed. Apparently, she was completely shocked when he proposed back in 2021 – it’s just lovely to see them so happy together.
Simon, worth around $600 million, once stated he’d never marry because he feared losing his money. He explained, ‘Marriage often leads to financial loss – it just wouldn’t work for me.’
