This marks 30 years of a truly incredible franchise, spanning iconic video games, anime, trading card games, movies, and much more.
Lots of rumors are circulating about what Pokémon will reveal for its 30th anniversary, like remakes of older games and maybe even a whole new generation. However, we do know some of the plans for the 2026 celebration.
The popular franchise is partnering with McDonald’s again to celebrate its 30th anniversary, just like they did for the 25th. Back then, special trading cards were included in Happy Meals. Beyond that, the trading card game itself has exciting plans for 2026, including a special ‘Celebrations Collection’ set. This new set will be similar to the one released for the 25th anniversary, featuring designs inspired by the very first cards in the series.
Pokémon: Pokopia is coming to the Switch 2 in March 2026. It’s a completely new kind of Pokémon game – an open-world sandbox experience that lets players explore and interact like never before.
