2025 was an incredible year for mobile gaming, filled with exciting new releases and surprising updates. But beyond the hype and critical scores, there are the games we truly enjoyed playing in our free time – the ones that stuck with us long after we put them down. Here are the GamingonPhone staff’s top picks for mobile games of 2025, from eagerly anticipated sequels to games we found ourselves returning to every day.
In this special article, the GamingonPhone team shares some of their most beloved games.

I was really impressed with NetEase Games’ RPGs this year, and my top mobile game of 2025 was definitely Where Winds Meet. I loved getting lost in its beautiful open world and having the freedom to explore everywhere.

I really enjoyed playing NetEase’s Destiny: Rising, and was impressed by its characters and engaging story. I also want to highlight BLEACH: Soul Resonance, which was fantastic for letting me play one of my favorite anime series on my phone. However, Where Winds Meet was still my favorite game of the year.

2025 was a year of exploring different game genres and hidden gems for me. I enjoyed playing titles like Mo.co and Pokémon TCGP, but Marvel Snap really stood out and kept me engaged throughout the entire year.

I recently started playing eFootball again and have been having fun with the quick movements and plays when I have free time.
Like every year, I had to play Battlegrounds Mobile India. But honestly, it didn’t feel quite as good as it used to, and I didn’t spend nearly as much time with it this year as I have in the past. Still, I’m pretty sure it’ll stay on my list of favourite games going into 2025!

I’ve really enjoyed playing Limbus Company this year. Its story was captivating and made me reflect on my own life experiences – it’s been a moving, and sometimes sad, journey. I’m eager to see how the story unfolds and how it all concludes at the end.

I was really enjoying the action in Zenless Zone Zero – the combat was fantastic and the music was amazing. Plus, the story was engaging enough to keep me interested, which was a nice bonus.

I usually prefer action games, but I really started enjoying RPGs in 2025, especially after playing Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. I was immediately hooked by its detailed story, huge world, and amazing graphics. You should read my review of it!

It was really nice to see a mobile version of my favorite TV show. Plus, with the exciting plans Kingsroad has for 2026, I think I’ll be playing for a long time!

In 2025, I enjoyed playing a lot of games, but my favorites were Genshin Impact and Where Winds Meet. I’ve been playing Genshin Impact for three years now, and I’m always impressed by its detailed story and world, which keeps me coming back for more.

I was particularly impressed with Where Winds Meet – its graphics were beautiful, the story was captivating, and the combat felt fresh. While I also tried out games like Wuthering Waves, Solo Leveling: Arise, Honkai: Star Rail, and Strinova, none of them kept me as consistently entertained as Genshin Impact and Where Winds Meet.

I played a lot of different types of games in 2025, including RPGs and shooters, but I kept coming back to MOBAs. I have a complicated relationship with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, but after a long break from competitive play, I finally reached the Immortal rank this year.
Look, the game definitely had its tense moments, but honestly, nothing else gives me that same rush. What really hooked me were the team-ups – they were awesome. Plus, I ended up with a killer skin collection, everything from Naruto and Sasuke to Terry Bogard and a bunch more. It was so worth it!

I also really enjoyed playing Honor of Kings this year, though my friends were the ones who first got me into it. I reached Diamond rank by playing on my own, but I eventually went back to playing MLBB. Still, it was a fun experience! It looks like MLBB will be my main game again this year, just like it has been since 2019.

For me, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the best mobile game of 2025. While there have been a lot of great events and partnerships, the collaboration between MLBB and Naruto really stood out and I hope to see more like it.

I also play other popular MOBA games like Honor of Kings, Pokémon Unite, and League of Legends: Wild Rift. When I’m not focused on those, I like building new decks in Clash Royale. But when I really want to compete, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is still my favorite game this year.

I’m a huge fan of eFootball, and 2025 has been a great year for my team in the game. I also play EA Sports FC Mobile, Dream League Soccer, and WCC3 when I want a competitive match, but I always come back to eFootball because I love its complex strategy and gameplay.

I sometimes enjoy managing a team in Football Manager Mobile, but I truly prefer the head-to-head matches in eFootball.
Chirag Chaudhury (Editor)
I continue to enjoy playing eFootball Mobile this year. The regular updates have really improved the game, making it feel smoother and more realistic than before. Better ball physics and more intelligent AI create a unique experience in every match.

Finding your ideal player – the one you really want – is always a challenge, but that difficulty is what makes the effort feel so satisfying.
Tousif Hasan Biswas (Editor-in-Chief)
I recently came back to playing Clash of Clans after almost eight years, and I was surprised by how much more enjoyable it is now! The “Clash Anywhere” update has completely transformed the game, making it feel modern, quick-paced, and really fun.
Clash of Clans received the “Best IP Collaboration Of The Year” award at the GamingonPhone Awards 2025, recognizing its popular crossover event with the WWE.

I also played several games intermittently, including Wuthering Waves, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Honor of Kings, and Vampirio. I put a lot of effort into moco for a while, but ultimately stopped playing it.
