After swimmer Adam Peaty announced his breakup with Eirianedd Munro shortly after competing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, many fans playfully suggested the show’s well-known ‘curse’ was to blame.

It’s no surprise that Adam and his dance partner, Katya Jones, sparked some gossip. Their strong connection was clear, especially during a passionate Argentinian tango in week five of the BBC’s dance competition, where they nearly kissed.

Katya, a Russian dancer, has worked for years to overcome the label of being a ‘man-eater,’ a reputation that began after she was photographed kissing her Strictly Come Dancing partner, Seann Walsh, back in 2017.

It’s easy to see why Eirianedd, the mother of Adam’s son George, was so bothered by the almost-kiss during the tango. She confessed to feeling very upset afterwards and even briefly stepped away from social media.

Yet now we know it wasn’t Katya who turned Adam’s head on Strictly, but another woman.

Holly Ramsay, daughter of chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana, recently married Adam Peaty. Before meeting on the show Strictly Come Dancing, it seemed unlikely their paths would cross – Holly was building a career as a social media influencer, while Adam is an Olympic swimmer.

Holly met Adam through her sister, Tilly, who was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021 with stars like Dan Walker and Sara Davies. Both Tilly and Holly attended Adam’s wedding at Bath Abbey last Saturday, but Adam’s parents did not.

People close to the show say Adam and Holly first met after the live ‘Strictly’ performances on Saturday nights, when the contestants and their families would socialize.

With all the drama surrounding the Peaty family, people are overlooking how Holly and Adam actually got together, according to a source close to them.

Holly went to support Tilly and that’s where she met Adam. Adam was with Eiri at the time, and it seemed like their relationship wasn’t going well. They soon met, and a few months later, Adam and Eiri broke up. Shortly after that, Adam and Holly started dating.

There’s no evidence Adam was unfaithful to his girlfriend, but it appears Katya was unintentionally used as a distraction. People initially thought she might have been involved in his breakup, when in reality, another woman named Holly was the reason for the split.

Adam didn’t mention Holly, who is now 25, when he announced his split from Eiri on Instagram in August 2022.

It’s been a fantastic three years, especially the last two with our wonderful son, George,” he shared. “Eiri and George, I apologize for any hurt I’ve caused. My priority right now is the well-being of my family, and I ask that we have our privacy during this challenging time. I won’t be making any further comments.”

Considering how things began, Holly and Adam’s relationship hasn’t been easy. It’s been quite rocky ever since.

As I previously shared, Holly unexpectedly removed Adam’s mother, Caroline, and his father and brothers – Mark, Richard, and James – from the guest list. This happened because Holly reportedly didn’t like the dress Caroline had chosen.

Holly, whose father is reportedly worth over £100 million, apparently offered to buy a new outfit for her future mother-in-law, but Caroline turned down the offer. Elsewhere, Adam, 31, is currently estranged from his brothers. Last month, his brother James was arrested for harassment after allegedly sending inappropriate messages to Adam during his bachelor party in Budapest.

Adam’s only family member at the wedding was his sister, Beth. She was a bridesmaid, along with the bride’s sisters, Megan and Tilly.

Let me tell you, this whole situation is a bit of a whirlwind! From what I’m hearing, Adam’s found someone special, which is lovely, but it’s definitely come with its complications. There are always trade-offs when it comes to matters of the heart, and this romance is no exception – it’s been a costly one in many ways.

Caroline also missed Holly’s bachelorette party in October at Soho Farmhouse, despite Victoria Beckham, a close friend of Caroline’s mother, being there. Adam is reportedly very close to Gordon, who considers him like a son.

Eiri is reportedly very upset that Adam adopted Holly’s last name, now calling himself ‘Adam Ramsay Peaty.’ Sources say he didn’t offer the same courtesy to her when their son, George, was born in 2019.

Eiri had suggested they give their son both their surnames but Adam said no, according to sources close to her. She has now branded her ex ‘hypocritical’.

A friend of Adam’s says he never imagined meeting someone from the Ramsay family when he joined Strictly Come Dancing. But that’s exactly what happened with Holly, and they’re both thrilled. However, people are jokingly suggesting their relationship might be ‘cursed’ due to the show’s history.
