It began as an epic showbiz romance.
Linda Kozlowski, an American actress, met Paul Hogan, the Australian star of the hit movie Crocodile Dundee, on set in 1985, and quickly fell in love.
After five years of dating, they married in Byron Bay with a lot of media attention, but their marriage ended in 2014 after 24 years together.
A recent rediscovery of an old interview with 67-year-old Linda shares the heartbreaking reason behind the split of what many believed was a perfect romance.
Linda explained to New Idea that they simply drifted apart after the split. She said they didn’t share many interests, which she noted is common in many relationships over time.
Tying the knot in 1990, Linda and Paul, 86, welcomed son Chance in 1998.

Paul was already famous in Australia, but he became an international star after appearing in the hugely successful movie Crocodile Dundee with Linda.
The actor received a Golden Globe for his performance and was also nominated for an Academy Award for writing the original screenplay.
When Linda accepted the part of the journalist in the popular movie, Paul was still married to Noelene.
The pair had previously split after more than 20 years and divorced in 1981.
Less than a year later, the pair, who have five children together, remarried.
It was heartbreaking for us fans when they broke up again in 1986. Apparently, Paul fell for a much younger actress he was working with on ‘Crocodile Dundee,’ and that was that.
It was revealed in 2016 that Paul and Noelene didn’t speak for 17 years following their breakup.
In May, Linda was seen enjoying a rare public appearance in Los Angeles with her son Chance, her partner Moulay Hafid Baba, and Paul.

Chance has been living with his father in LA since his parents’ divorce.
After Linda split with Paul in 2013, she later left Hollywood altogether.
I was so thrilled to see her one last time on the big screen! It was back in 2001, when she beautifully brought Sue Charlton back to life for the final Crocodile Dundee movie. It felt like a perfect way to say goodbye to such an iconic character and a wonderful actress.
In a 1988 interview with the Los Angeles Times, she explained that after starring in Crocodile Dundee, Hollywood began to see her as only suitable for certain types of roles. She felt this was both a positive and negative outcome.
Ugh, after Crocodile Dundee blew up, I was getting SO many offers, but honestly, most of them were just… awful. It was always the same thing – they wanted me to play the girlfriend of the comedian, you know? Like, seriously? I was so over being the ‘funny man’s arm candy’ after that, I just kept saying no!
In 2020, Paul openly discussed the reasons behind his divorces from Noelene Edwards and a former co-star from the movie Crocodile Dundee.
The actor explained to The Daily Telegraph that both of his relationships simply faded over time.
Paul admitted he doesn’t maintain relationships well long-term. ‘I’m good at the beginning, but after two or three decades, people tend to get tired of being with me,’ he explained.
He added: ‘But you don’t go around explaining what worked and what didn’t, you just get over it.’
Before becoming an actor, Paul worked as a lifeguard. It was at the Granville Olympic swimming pool in Sydney, in 1958, that he first met his future wife, Noelene.
The former couple got married when Paul was 19 and had three children by the time he was 23.
He shared that he loves being a father, and even though he became a dad young, he’s enjoyed every moment of it.
