A new four-film series, The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, will celebrate the legendary band and keep their music and story alive, with each member being the focus of one film.
Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn, and Barry Keoghan will portray Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr in a new movie set to be released in April 2028.
In addition to the four main actors, the film features a strong supporting cast playing the partners of the band members, including Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey.

Even though The Beatles remain one of the most popular bands ever, McKenna-Bruce – known for playing Tee Taylor in Tracy Beaker Returns – recently revealed she wasn’t very familiar with their music before landing the role of Ringo Starr’s first wife.
In an interview with Tatler, the actor explained that while they sang songs like ‘Eleanor Rigby’ and ‘Yellow Submarine’ in school, they weren’t particularly fond of them.

While filming Seven Dials with Martin Freeman, he quizzed me on the Beatles, and I embarrassingly couldn’t name them all.
She explained that he would quiz her with questions like, ‘What band was Mick Jagger in?’ She’d respond that she didn’t know, and he’d get frustrated, exclaiming ‘Aargh!’
I’ve actually started to realize The Beatles don’t get enough credit! I genuinely enjoy their music – it’s the kind of thing I’d happily listen to while commuting.
McKenna-Bruce then discussed her role playing Maureen, who first met Ringo Starr while she was learning to be a hairdresser in Liverpool. They later married in 1965, when she was only 18 years old.

She said she’s never met Ringo Starr, but people tell her that even now, when he speaks about Maureen, his eyes light up.
Ringo, like all the Beatles, experienced a lot of challenges, and his first wife, Maureen, was a stabilizing force in his life. I feel it’s important to portray her as a real, relatable, and kind person.
Viewers can next see McKenna-Bruce in Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, alongside Martin Freeman and Helena Bonham Carter, premiering on Netflix January 15, 2026.
The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event will be released in April 2028.
