Leigh-Anne Pinnock announced on Tuesday that her record label has decided not to release her music, citing budget constraints.
Former Little Mix singer, 34, shared a personal video on Instagram detailing her challenges and announcing she’s independently releasing her first solo album, ‘My Ego Told Me To’.
The singer began their solo career by signing with Warner Records in 2022, but recently switched labels to Virgin Music Group after being released from their Warner contract earlier this year.
She’s already put out a few singles, and her first album is coming out in February 2026.
In a video shared with her 9.7 million followers, Leigh-Anne revealed she’s taking charge, speaking candidly while sitting in her luxurious walk-in closet.
Releasing a long breath, the singer said: ‘So, long story short, the label have said no basically.

‘They don’t have the budget to put my album out, so I’m ready to take the rigns.
‘It will be a new chapter and I just can’t wait. I’m leading this s***.’
After sharing the update, the singer of “Shout Out To My Ex” posted a collection of videos from her recent solo performances.
Leigh-Anne announced she’s excited to achieve even greater success with the release of her first solo album and an upcoming tour.
She penned: ‘Proof that when you trust and back yourself, doors open.
Honestly, if you’ve been looking for a little encouragement, consider this your sign. I truly believe in you – you have so much capability and power within you. Please, never dim your light for anyone else. You are absolutely enough, just as you are, and you always have been. I really mean that.
Wishing everyone all the best for 2026! I’m excited about the release of my first solo album, ‘My Ego Told Me To,’ and the upcoming tour. Here’s to even more love, life, and success in the year ahead.
Fans flooded the comments section with support for Leigh-Anne, excitedly saying they’re eager to listen when the new music releases in the new year.

So proud of you – this is your year! Can’t wait to see all you accomplish in 2026. You were amazing in 2025, Leigh!
We’re so thrilled about the new album and can’t wait to see you succeed in 2026! We’ll be listening and cheering you on every step of the way!
‘2026 is going to be YOUR year. the year of leigh-anne. i am so so ready.’
Daily Mail have contacted Leigh-Anne’s record label for comment.
I’m so excited to see Leigh-Anne really embracing a change! She’s always been lovely, but she’s said she wants to show us a different side of herself, and move away from just being known as ‘the nice girl.’ As a fan, I totally support her wanting to evolve and show everyone who she really is.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m really watching Leigh-Anne’s journey – she’s showing everyone she’s so much more than just her time in Little Mix or being a mom to her adorable twins with Andre Gray. She’s really stepping into her own and defining who she is beyond those roles, and it’s inspiring to see!
In a recent interview on The Red Carpet Treatment podcast, she shared that she’s excited to reveal a new side of herself to the public.
People have a certain image of me – as a mum and a kind person. But I’m done trying to maintain that ‘nice girl’ persona. I’m ready to show a different, more authentic side of myself.
She explained that being in the group Little Mix, with Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, and formerly Jesy Nelson, made it hard to express her own personality. She believes the band’s breakup, while difficult, was ultimately necessary.
Leigh-Anne believes the group’s breakup was necessary for each member to grow as an individual and express their own personality.

I believe everyone deserves the chance to explore that feeling. After being part of a group for a while, you eventually reach a point where you need to rediscover your individual identity.
‘It’s amazing that we’re all in our own little lane and doing our own thing.’
The singer known for ‘OMG’ is releasing new songs after recently announcing her departure from Warner Music Group.
In 2022, Leigh-Anne began her solo career by signing with Warner Music. She then released her debut EP, No Hard Feelings, in 2023.
Her attempt at a solo career lost momentum when Warner Bros. refused to fund a music video for her latest single, reportedly because her previous songs hadn’t performed well.
As many of you know, I took some time away to focus on family, but I’m so excited to share that I’m getting back to my music! And this time, I’m doing things completely my own way – I’ve decided to go independent with my work. It feels incredibly liberating and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been creating with all of you.
For her new album, she has full creative freedom, which is rare for most musicians.
