Zoe Ball opens up on her ‘lover’ and reveals what she finds ‘sexy’ – weeks after confirming she’s moved a mystery man into her home

Zoe Ball recently shared details about her new boyfriend, describing what she finds attractive about him. This comes shortly after she announced a man had moved in with her, though his identity remains a secret.

The 55-year-old radio host, who used to call him ‘The Lodger’, shared what she misses when he’s not around.

She briefly talked about a mysterious man, but it’s unclear what their relationship is like. Her last publicly known relationship was with Michael Reed, a construction worker, and they broke up in 2023.

Speaking on her Dig It podcast with her co-host Jo Whiley, Zoe said: ‘Sniffing pits is sexy though.

‘I’ve often had this thing, when I’ve been sort of dating someone, I love smelling their armpits.’

It might sound strange, but I believe if you truly love someone, you should accept everything about them – including their natural scent. I’m not talking about all smells, of course – bathroom habits are a different story! But I actually find the smell of someone’s armpits really attractive.

She explained that one of her favorite things to do, especially after being apart from her partner, is to bury her face in their armpits and inhale deeply. She admits this sometimes gets a funny look from them, but she genuinely loves the smell and finds it comforting.

Do you recall when you used to borrow clothes from someone you were dating, back when you were younger?

My children sometimes borrow clothes from their partners, and it’s sweet because they like the way the clothes smell.

I have a habit of not changing the sheets when my partner is away. It’s partly because I worry they won’t return, and partly because I love the way they smell on the pillows.

I really enjoy that scent. It reminds me of being a teenager and wearing cologne – I think it was Kuros by Paco Rabanne. I’ve always loved fragrances, and they instantly bring back memories.

You know you’ve fallen out of love with someone when things that used to attract you – even their scent – suddenly become unpleasant. It’s like a switch flips, and you just don’t feel the same way anymore.

‘It’s gone because you got to love all their smells.’

Zoe had previously shared that a new man had moved in with her, and that he actually has a more impressive collection of awards than she does.

While chatting with Jo about Christmas presents, Zoe remembered when a mysterious man unexpectedly saw her using a massage brush.

She described an online purchase – a tool with a handle and many wooden pieces used for hitting the legs and underarms.

It also improves blood flow and I believe it’s beneficial for lymphatic drainage. I even bought a lot as Christmas gifts for others.

I’m pretty sure none of my friends use these things either. I have one gathering dust upstairs, and I’m going to get it and jokingly hit myself with it.

I’ll never forget when the new tenant first saw me in the middle of it and immediately turned around to leave.

Jo then asked: ‘And he’s still around. He’s still in your life?’

‘He’s still here at the moment. He’s still lodging,’ replied Zoe.

The presenter didn’t say who her lodger is, but she mentioned he’s actually won more awards than she has.

You know, I’m always a bit amused when I look at my awards. I actually received a Sony award just for attending an event – which, honestly, is a lovely gesture! It’s nice to be recognized, even for just showing up!

Actually, I did receive a Sony product, and Marianne Faithfull gave it to me. I was really pleased about that! I also won some award – ‘Caner of the Year’, I think, though I’ve forgotten what it was for.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always saying it’s not about the awards, it’s about the memories! And I truly believe that. But it still feels a little strange to admit that even though our final episode of ‘Live and Kicking’ won a BAFTA – which was an incredible honor, honestly – I don’t actually have the award itself. It’s a funny little quirk, and a reminder that sometimes the best moments aren’t about possessions!

I really need to acquire one and display it… Yes, our tenant has received many awards… I need to improve my own…

Jo suggested they take the awards – the things the lodger left behind – and display them on the mantelpiece. She jokingly said it was okay to just take them.

Zoe joked: ‘Yeah. Maybe I’ll just stop making myself some.’

The Daily Mail has contacted Zoe’s representative for further comment.
