Pregnant Holly Hagan hits back at troll for branding her stingy over her son’s Christmas presents: ‘What are you expecting me to buy a two-year-old?’

Holly Hagan strongly responded to a social media user who criticized the Christmas gifts she gave her son, accusing her of being cheap.

Former Geordie Shore star, 33, shared several photos on Instagram over the weekend, showing how she spent Christmas Day with her husband, Jacob Blyth, and their two-year-old son, Alpha-Jax.

Oh my gosh, I just saw the cutest video! It was of her pushing her little boy on this bright yellow quad bike – apparently it was his big present, and yellow is, like, his absolute favorite color ever. It was just the sweetest thing to watch him zooming around, so happy! I seriously can’t even with the cuteness!

Holly was shocked when a viewer commented that the £40 gift wasn’t generous enough, suggesting Alpha-Jax would be disappointed with it.

The pregnant reality star was upset by a troll trying to ruin her and her son’s fun, so she responded with a video on TikTok.

She shared a comment – ‘Main present hahah he be gutted pure bairn’ – and then asked for gift ideas for a toddler. She explained that Alpha-Jax had really loved the bike she’d given him, and she thought it was a generous and unusual present.

Holly was frustrated, saying she couldn’t understand why people had such high expectations for Christmas gifts for a two-year-old child.

She continued, explaining that he had immediately been captivated by a box of magnetic letters and would have been perfectly content playing with just that all day. She added that, being only two years old, he wouldn’t have been disappointed if that had been his only gift.

Seriously? He already got a quad bike! The kid was thrilled.

Is there something I’m not understanding? What did you think I was going to get for a two-year-old? He was absolutely thrilled with it, by the way!

In a follow-up video, she explained that the troll’s comment hadn’t upset her, but she did find it frustratingly foolish.

As a lifestyle expert, I have to say, I was really surprised to hear someone suggest a £40 gift isn’t enough for a two-year-old! Honestly, to me, a £40 quad bike is a pretty extravagant gift for that age. It feels a bit over the top, and frankly, a little spoiling, when so many children don’t receive gifts like that. It’s about finding a balance and being mindful of what’s appropriate and accessible for everyone.

I was really confused about what gift to buy, as my child would have been upset if I hadn’t gotten the right one – but thankfully, he ended up being happy.

Fans strongly agreed with Holly, commenting that they also weren’t sure what would be a good gift for a toddler. Many felt she would have been criticized no matter what she chose.

People often criticize baby gifts, saying whatever you buy isn’t good enough – even if it’s more than a typical two-year-old receives! They’ll point out that babies at that age are usually happier playing with the packaging than the actual toy.

What a wonderful gift! A simple cardboard box fort can keep a two-year-old entertained for hours. Don’t listen to negative comments online – you’ve done a great job, Mom!

Okay, let’s be real – when it comes to gifts, sometimes you just know what someone deserves, right? And honestly, if you’re craving something – a fabulous handbag, a fun toy, whatever – you should absolutely get it! Forget what anyone else thinks; it’s your life, your money, and your happiness. People need to focus on their own business, not judge your choices.

No matter what you do, people will still find something to criticize. If you filled your room with gifts, you’d be criticized for that, and if you didn’t, you’d be criticized anyway – you can’t please everyone.

People likely thought you’d give your child extravagant, unused gifts, like some celebrities do. But because you choose practical presents, it shows you’re a wonderful mother.

Responding to a comment, Holly explained that she felt she’d already gone to great lengths, stating, ‘It’s a quad bike – it’s way too much for a two-year-old, in my opinion!’

Holly is getting ready to welcome her second child with her husband, Jacob, following the recent and very sad loss of her half-sister, Darci.

The celebrity revealed last week that she’s expecting a baby girl. She shared the news in a heartfelt video featuring her and her partners, Jacob and Alpha-Jax, who all said they were hoping for a daughter.

She announced the news in a video on Instagram, explaining she’d been feeling like she might be having a girl. Alpha-Jax, meanwhile, said he’d love to have a little sister.

Honestly, it was one of the sweetest moments! Jacob surprised Holly with a confetti cannon – a burst of pink streamers filled the air – and she was instantly overcome with happy tears. It was just magical to witness!

Learning she was expecting a daughter felt especially meaningful, happening only two months after the heartbreaking loss of her 19-year-old sister to an accidental drug overdose.

Holly announced Darci’s passing in October, and police later stated the teenager had become seriously ill before her death.

Holly explained that her family was deeply traumatized and struggling to cope with their loss.

Just two days after her sister Darci’s funeral, she shared a video on TikTok. In the caption, she explained she was hesitant to post because it was a very difficult time, and she doesn’t typically share her emotions publicly. She wanted to be honest about how she was really feeling.

In the video, she openly shared that the past four weeks have been the most difficult of her life. She admitted she and her parents are still trying to come to terms with everything that’s happened.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m constantly seeing how deeply interconnected we all are, and honestly, I don’t think people fully grasp just how much this particular issue touches everyone’s lives. The sheer number of people impacted is truly staggering – it’s honestly mind-blowing when you really think about it.

It feels like everything has come to a standstill. Both my family and hers are completely frozen, stuck in this moment, while life around us continues to move forward.

Holly became upset and confessed that making the video right before going out was likely a mistake.

During the day, I’m usually able to distract myself and focus on other activities, which helps me avoid getting stuck in my own thoughts.

‘But usually on a night that’s obviously when it’s really hard, really, really hard for everyone.’

She explained that after the tragedy, she wasn’t sure how to start using social media again and hoped she could go back to work without having to discuss what happened.

“I feel incredibly weighed down right now,” she confessed. “Everything feels exhausting, like it takes ten times the effort to get anything done.”

I don’t want to turn my channel into a place focused on sadness, or constantly talk about what happened because I’m not ready to share everything just yet. But I hope to be able to talk about it fully someday.

Honestly, everything still feels so new and unbelievable. I really didn’t expect this to happen, ever. I’m so sorry, I thought I could keep my composure, but I’m clearly overwhelmed right now.

Everything that’s been happening feels unbelievably strange, like something out of a movie or TV show. It’s the kind of thing you see dramatized on screen, but actually experiencing it is something I wouldn’t want anyone to go through.

Holly honoured her ‘forever friend’ following her funeral.

She posted a photo of Darci’s memorial program to her Instagram Story, writing, “I hope we made you proud today, sweet girl. We all miss and love you dearly.”

She honored her sister in the post, writing: ‘My sister, my best friend always. She was an amazing aunt and the greatest gift to him. Now she’s watching over us as our guardian angel.’
