Georgia May Foote has publicly addressed the rumors surrounding her divorce from Kris Evans, revealing in a heartfelt message that this year has been incredibly difficult for her.
The 34-year-old actress, famous for her role as Katy Armstrong on Coronation Street, shared a thoughtful post on Instagram on Monday, looking back on the past year.
Reports surfaced that Kris had moved out of the house they shared with Georgia. She also removed her wedding ring and deleted all photos of him from her social media accounts.
Georgia recently shared with her 530,000 followers that it’s been a really difficult year. She said she hasn’t had any luck, but is grateful for the support of her friends and family.
This year has been incredibly difficult, honestly one of the worst I’ve ever had. I didn’t even have moments I felt good enough to share online. But despite everything, there were a few small things that brought me joy. (Definitely not the fire, though!).
I don’t even want to talk about how bad things were, but when the fire happened, I thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse. Then, the stress of this year caused my vitiligo to flare up, and I completely lost my self-confidence.

Looking back on everything, I’ve realized I’m a fighter. I’m incredibly strong and able to bounce back from anything. I pour my heart and soul into everything I do, and the fact that I’m still here, smiling and moving forward, proves a lot about my character. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
It’s alright to cry, feel disappointed, or get hurt. But remember, you deserve a good life, and your kindness will eventually make that happen. That’s all you need to focus on.
Be kind to everyone around you. If you’re going through a tough time, remember to stay strong. Life isn’t easy, and we only get one, so cherish love and seek out small moments of joy each day – whatever brings happiness to you.
Georgia received an outpouring of support from her fans, including a message saying, ‘Sending you lots of love, Georgia. Stay positive and be yourself. Here’s to a fresh start in the New Year!’
‘You are kind and caring. ❤️ Sending you love and lots of happiness in 2026’;
I just wanted to say thank you for being so open and honest – it really means a lot. Please remember you’re definitely not alone in this, and I truly believe things will get better. It’s a classic saying, but it’s true: this difficult period won’t last forever, but you will get through it – you’re stronger than you think!
I’m incredibly proud of you! Thanks for the sweet message reminding me that things will work out. I’ll always be here for you, and I’m hoping 2026 brings better times for both of us.
Things might have been tough in 2025, but I believe 2026 will be a fantastic year for you, and the beginning of an incredible adventure.

I was really surprised to hear that Kris, the musician, just up and left for a songwriting retreat in Spain last August. Apparently, he and his wife were already separated, and he left her at their house in Manchester to go. It’s a big move, and I’m curious to see what comes of it – hopefully some great new music!
He shared a moving message on social media, saying: ‘Even when things are falling apart, it’s important to create.’
Georgia and Kris have been a private couple since they first met in 2018. They got engaged in 2021 and married in July 2023.
Georgia, known for her five-year role on Coronation Street starting in 2010, has said she hasn’t been getting many acting jobs recently.
Following her character’s dramatic death in a car crash on a popular show, the actress transitioned to reality television, appearing on programs like Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Juice. She also had a recurring role in the American fantasy series, The Outpost, in the early 2020s.

In a recent interview with the Sausage On A Fork podcast, the actress admitted she’s been struggling to find work and described the past few years as the slowest period of her career.
Georgia returned in December 2020 and was shocked to find there were no job opportunities available.
When filming paused in the UK, projects were delayed, and a large number of new projects were put on hold. It then took about four years for those delayed projects to finally be released, and then the writers’ strikes added further complications.
Georgia explained that the past period had been incredibly difficult, and that’s why she’d been so unusually quiet. She believes many actors globally would agree about the timing of these challenges.
