Please be aware that this article reveals spoilers for the final season of Stranger Things. As the series nears its end, many fans are worried about the quality of the upcoming episodes. The fact that the lowest-rated episode so far appeared recently is a concerning sign. While long waits between seasons are common with streaming shows, Stranger Things has had an exceptionally long break. Considering the first season debuted in July 2016 and Season 4 concluded in July 2022, it’s hard to believe we’re only now getting the final chapter of this story about the Upside Down and the group of friends trying to save the world.
Fans aren’t exactly happy with the release plan for Stranger Things Season 5. The first four episodes will be available on November 26th, 2025, followed by episodes five through seven on December 25th. The final episode will air at 8 P.M. EST on December 31st, and anticipation is high. However, a petition requesting unaired footage suggests the season isn’t resonating with fans as much as the Duffer Brothers had hoped.
‘Stranger Things’ Season 5, Episode 7, ‘The Bridge,’ Only Has a 5.5/10 IMDb Rating

Netflix
Despite featuring emotional scenes and significant challenges for the characters, the seventh episode of Stranger Things Season 5, titled “The Bridge,” hasn’t been well-received by audiences. It currently has a rating of just 5.5 out of 10 on IMDb, which is considerably lower than the other two episodes released so far in the second part of the season. “Escape From Camazotz” (Episode 6) earned a score of 8.3, and “Shock Jock” (Episode 5) received 8.2.
As a huge fan of the show, I was really expecting “The Bridge” to be amazing – great story, strong performances, everything. It starts with Max waking up on November 6th, the same day Will Byers disappeared way back in season one, which immediately felt like a sign that something huge was about to happen. And it definitely delivered on that front – we finally see Will come out, which is such a powerful and important moment for his character.
Most fans agree that the second part of Stranger Things Season 5 isn’t very good, with too many slow or uninteresting scenes. Since almost no one liked the episode “The Bridge,” it raises questions about how the series will end. The finale is expected to be a major TV event in 2025, but currently, people aren’t feeling confident about its quality. Ideally, we should be looking forward to it with excitement, not concern.
Learning the secrets of the Upside Down was a highlight, but Season 5 hasn’t quite lived up to expectations. The show relies too much on characters talking through strategies instead of actively participating in events. The series finale has a lot to resolve: will Holly Wheeler be saved, can the characters escape Hawkins, and will all the storylines conclude satisfyingly, or will it feel rushed and disjointed?

The seventh episode of Stranger Things features a touching scene with Will and his loved ones, which Noah Schnapp described as a true depiction of the queer experience and growing up. However, the episode as a whole feels a bit disappointing, and that’s not ideal considering it’s leading up to the final ever episode of such a popular show. Hopefully, the series finale, “The Rightside Up,” will be a satisfying conclusion when it’s released on New Year’s Eve. Otherwise, Stranger Things risks being remembered for its weak ending, just like Lost and Game of Thrones.
