Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay’s wedding day ‘overshadowed by security guards, dog patrols and mandatory wristbands’ which led one guest to compare the nuptials to a ‘hospital appointment’

The wedding of Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay was said to have had very tight security, including large bodyguards and dogs trained to detect anything suspicious.

Olympic swimmer, age 31, married influencer Holly, 25, on Saturday at Bath Abbey. The reception was held at the luxurious Kin House. The wedding took place despite a family disagreement that led to the swimmer’s mother being disinvited.

For security, all guests – including David and Victoria Beckham – had to wear wristbands.

One person who went said it was a nice day, but the wristband made it feel more like they were at a doctor’s appointment.

Let me tell you, the energy around the Abbey was intense on the wedding day! Honestly, it was a bit chaotic as huge crowds gathered, all hoping to catch a peek of the bride. One person I spoke with described it as a complete frenzy – everyone just wanted a glimpse of the magic!

Security guards created a protective barrier around the bride and her family as they carefully made their way through the narrow hallway inside the historic building.

According to a source, the Ramsay family’s cars drove around the church before leaving through a back exit. The scene was quite chaotic, and roads were closed off.

Daily Mail have contacted Holly and Adam’s representatives for comment.

After the ceremony, the wedding party went to the reception at Kin House, a beautiful Georgian manor nearby.

This luxurious location features 12 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom stocked with high-end Verden toiletries. Guests can also enjoy a private yoga studio and swimming pool.

Our beautiful event space can comfortably accommodate up to 200 people and features an art deco bar, a stage, and a menu of delicious canapés and cocktails.

Adam and Holly’s wedding guests could party late into the night, as the venue’s bar stayed open until the early morning.

According to his friend and fellow television personality Sara Davies, the athlete was overcome with emotion and cried during his wedding ceremony when his partner walked down the aisle.

Sara Davies, 41, known from the TV show Dragon’s Den, attended the event and became friends with Adam after they were both on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.

Although Sara hasn’t posted any photos from the wedding itself yet, she did share a heartfelt message and some pictures of her and Adam on Instagram on Sunday.

She said it was wonderful to attend the wedding of this special man, and it made her realize how grateful she is to have had him in her life for the last four years.

We became good friends the moment we met on Strictly, and I was truly honored to be at Bath Abbey, witnessing his heartfelt reaction as his future wife walked down the aisle.

It was a truly wonderful day! Simon and I had an amazing time, the ceremony was lovely, and honestly, the wedding food was the best I’ve ever tasted.

‘Wishing my wonderful friend and his gorgeous bride a lifetime of happiness together.’

She posted a collection of photos of them together from over the years, and also some glimpses from behind the scenes of Strictly Come Dancing.

Sara shared photos from the ceremony at the Abbey on her social media story, where she also caught up with her friend and former Strictly Come Dancing co-star, Dan Walker.

She was joined by her husband Simon and wore a pretty blue and black flower patterned dress.

Dan gave everyone a first look at the wedding of the Olympian and Holly on Sunday morning, calling it ‘unforgettable’.

TV host Dan, age 48, shared a photo of the wedding program on Instagram, expressing how ‘wonderful’ the day was. He and his partner Adam competed on Strictly Come Dancing together in 2021.

Dan and his wife, Sarah, enjoyed celebrating with Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay yesterday, and shared that they had a lovely time.

It was a fantastic wedding with lovely people and amazing service. The reception was unforgettable, the speeches were brilliant, and we even got to sing some great songs during the church service!

Dan shared a photo of the cover of the service booklet, and also a picture from inside showing the lyrics to the hymn “Be Thou My Vision” – the same hymn he used in a post on Instagram.

On Sunday, Cruz Beckham also shared a selfie with brother Romeo during the bash.

Holly arrived at her wedding in Bath Abbey with her famous chef father, but she surprised guests by keeping her lace wedding dress hidden under a large, flowing ivory cloak.

The influencer had a valid reason to feel nervous as she walked through the crowded onlookers on her way to marry Adam.

The couple’s glamorous wedding hid a painful family conflict. The groom’s mother, and most of his relatives, weren’t invited to the ceremony, with accusations of elitism and social prejudice fueling the rift.

More than 130 miles away in Staffordshire, Adam’s mother, Caroline, was devastated to miss what should have been a joyous occasion. She was completely overwhelmed with grief.

Standing right here, in the house Adam actually grew up in, it just hits different, you know? He told the Mail on Sunday, and honestly, it broke my heart a little, that he’s just done being hurt. He said, and I’ll never forget it, ‘I’m not going to be hurt like this again.’ It’s like, finally, he’s protecting himself. It just… it means so much.

She had told Daily Mail that she felt as if Holly and Adam ‘have cut my heart out’.

I was so shocked to read that just before Adam Peaty walked into the abbey with little George, he received a really upsetting text from his aunt Louise! Apparently, she wasn’t invited to the wedding either, and sent him the message right then. It just adds another layer of sadness to the whole situation, knowing that happened right before such a public moment.

She wrote, hoping he would never experience the same intense pain he’d caused his mother, even though she still loved him. She expressed her disappointment and disapproval of both of them.

I always try to remember that even on what should be the most joyful day, and every year as that day comes around, there’s a deep sadness because of the pain caused to my mother. It’s a pain that feels like it never truly goes away, a constant ache in my heart.

This family feud started in September 2024 when Adam and Holly didn’t invite many of their relatives to their engagement party, which caused hurt feelings.

Caroline wasn’t invited to Holly’s fancy hen party at Soho Farmhouse last month, despite years of driving her son to training and the attendance of guests like Holly’s mother, Tana Ramsay, and Victoria Beckham.
