The best new brawlers added to Brawl Stars in 2025: Ranked

When Pierce was added to the game in late December, it brought the total number of new characters for 2025 to twelve. Several of these new characters are both visually appealing and more powerful competitors.

There’s no single “best” brawler in Brawl Stars. The ideal choice depends on what game mode you’re playing and how you like to play. However, some of the newer characters are incredibly exciting and really stand out.

This is a ranking of the new characters added to Brawl Stars in 2025. It can help you decide which ones to unlock and play with most often.

1. Kaze: Two kits, Japanese vibes

Kaze was released during the season focused on the Battle for Katana Kingdom. This brought Japanese-themed adventures, featuring epic battles against giant Kaiju monsters, which you can still experience today in the Brawl Arena MOBA mode.

Kaze was a great part of those Japanese vibes! Also, she brought something totally new to the game.

Kaze is unique because she effectively plays like two different fighters with her Geisha and Ninja kits. Her Geisha Super, called Fan Storm, creates a disorienting effect, completely obscuring your vision.

Kaze is a brand-new, incredibly powerful brawler in Brawl Stars – the first of his kind! The developers put a lot of effort into making him worth the 5,500 Credits he costs. He has two different fighting styles, letting you take down enemies however you prefer.

2. Gigi: Horror with the teleportation ability

Gigi, a spooky puppet, came to Brawl Stars around Halloween, alongside content inspired by Stranger Things. This brawler is designed to be frightening – she looks like a scary doll, and her attacks are truly terrifying for anyone facing her in battle.

Okay, so if you’re a fan of scary stuff like the animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy’s, you might find Gigi pretty creepy too. Seriously, I would not want to meet her in a dark room – no way!

Playing against Gigi is frustrating because of her Super, Shadow Puppet. You’re focused on your strategy in a Brawl Stars match, and then suddenly a puppet appears, does a lot of damage, and quickly teleports away, making it a really annoying experience.

Gigi’s Gadget 2, called Disappearing Act, works similarly to Kaze’s Super ability: it sends opponents to a separate dimension, effectively removing them from the main game map.

3. Meeple: You’re trapped!

Meeple is an unusual character made up of pieces from board games. While their appearance isn’t for all tastes, they’re surprisingly powerful in combat, capable of amazing feats.

Meeple’s Gadget 1 traps opponents, preventing their escape and leaving them open to attacks. Paired with Meeple’s powerful projectile abilities and their talent for amplifying teammates’ attacks, this can be a really challenging combination to face.

Meeple is a really strong brawler when players work together as a team! He was the very first brawler added to Brawl Stars, back in 2025.

4. Lumi: Hits with morning stars and fire

Lumi is a dynamic and energetic new character in Brawl Stars! She’s a drummer with a rebellious edge, wielding morning stars as weapons.

She deals a lot of damage, though her attacks can be a little difficult to master. Landing her projectiles that bounce back at opponents gives you a huge advantage in one-on-one fights. Combining this with Lumi’s Star Power and Gadget adds even more power!

Honestly, I think Lumi is already shaping up to be one of the most popular Brawlers in Brawl Stars by 2025, even without any extras. But that Stranger Things skin they gave her – Eleven – was just incredible! That collab was a perfect fit, and getting Eleven in the Brawl Pass was a really awesome surprise.

5. Alli: Sneaky movement in the wilderness

In Brawl Stars, being able to move quickly through water and hide effectively in bushes is a huge benefit. Alli excels at both!

This girl has a strange link to alligators, and Alli gains some of her abilities from them.

Alli isn’t a simple, direct fighter. To play her well, you need to know the map and pay attention to what your opponents are doing. If you use her stealth abilities effectively, she can be a really powerful brawler.

6. Jay-Yong: Speed, healing, and… karaoke?

Jay-Yong isn’t your average Brawl Stars fighter, but players – even the pros – were happy to see him added to the game. He’s a unique character with a fun backstory as an office worker who loves karaoke, though his story isn’t quite as fantastical as those of some of the game’s other characters.

Jay-Yong is a strong character because he can support his team in a lot of different ways. Like Kaze, he has two main forms: work mode and party mode. Work mode makes his teammates move faster, while party mode restores their health.

Players who enjoy karaoke tend to perform better when working as part of a well-coordinated team. During the Brawl Stars World Finals 2025, Jay-Yong was frequently selected to play in important playoff games.

7. Trunk: Stay away from that tree!

This brawler is unlike any other in Brawl Stars, and its origins date back to 2025. What appears to be a tree is actually a complex device created by ants seeking to get back at humanity.

This ant species is a bit slow moving, which prevents it from ranking higher. However, once it gets close to its target, it can inflict significant damage.

The Trunk class can be a little challenging. To help them succeed, you need to prepare the battlefield by strategically placing ants around the map – essentially giving them a boost.

8. Mina: The power of wind and Capoeira

This character is really awesome! She’s modeled after professional skateboarder Rayssa Leal, and her story is inspiring – it shows that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Mina is a challenging character to play. Successfully attacking with her requires precise timing – you need to tap the attack button quickly to create powerful wind-based attacks. Using her skills effectively also depends on good positioning.

The animations and concepts are still fantastic! It’s like watching a Capoeira expert on a skateboard – they move with the grace of an airbender.

9. Finx: Coming from the magical dimension of ancient gods

Finx isn’t just a child playing dress-up. He possesses the powers of Anubis, an ancient Egyptian god – likely due to the magical staff he carries.

Finx is a popular brawler known for his unique and appealing design. Players at the World Finals showed that this design translates well in real life, and it continues to be quite funny and well-received.

Playing as Finx in Brawl Stars can be tricky. While his basic attacks are simple to hit with, his powerful Super ability is difficult to use effectively. It demands good positioning, a strong understanding of all the characters, and teamwork.

10. Ollie: Hypnotizing music

This boy loves music and shares it with everyone around him. It’s unknown how the other fighters in Brawl Stars react to this new competitor from 2025 – are they captivated by the music, or simply taken aback?

I really like Ollie’s design – he looks awesome even without his Jake from Subway Surfers skin! His fighting style is pretty good too, especially when he can really go after opponents who are already stunned. Honestly though, he’s been getting beat out by the flashier, more powerful new characters. But, if you’re a fan of old-school hip-hop and hoverboards like me, you’ll definitely appreciate him!

11. Pierce: Long-reaching shoots with complicated reload

Pierce, a lifeguard, has a deeply unsettling habit: he shoots people he believes are polluting the pool.

This character is stylish and carries a great water gun. Pierce is a highly skilled sniper, known for his long-range accuracy.

However, it’s easier to avoid getting hit by attacks from a distance. Also, the Pierce weapon has a tricky reloading process after firing its last water bullet. While picking up dropped shells can be helpful, it doesn’t actually make the Pierce any easier to use.

Pierce is the final new brawler added to Brawl Stars in 2025, arriving in late December. He might become even stronger once he’s available in regular gameplay, outside of the special event used to unlock him.

12. Ziggy: Lightning magic

Whether you find Ziggy attractive as a fighter really depends on your taste. He’s designed to look like a rock star from the 1970s who somehow gained magical powers and now wields a lightning-charged staff.

Ziggy’s area-of-effect attacks aren’t very large, and they’re slow to activate, giving enemies a chance to move out of the way. However, his ultimate ability is very powerful. If played well and with a supportive team, Ziggy can still be effective.

Brawl Stars keeps adding new brawlers each month, and 2026 starts with a Mythic Support, Glowbert.
