The highly praised drama Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, is now available to stream on Sky Cinema and Now if you have a cinema membership.
The movie, featuring Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, and Jack O’Connell, was released on December 26th and has already received praise, with Digital Spy and other publications calling it one of the best films of 2025.
Ryan Coogler, the filmmaker behind Creed (2015) and Black Panther (2018), wrote, directed, and produced Sinners. This new film is set in Mississippi in 1932 and centers on identical twins, Stack and Smoke (both played by Michael B. Jordan), who come home to open a nightclub for the area’s Black residents.

The brothers are getting ready to open their nightclub, and they get a little help from their cousin Sammie. However, their preparations are interrupted when they run into people from their past – including Stack’s ex, Mary, and Smoke’s separated wife, Annie – and, even more surprisingly, a group of vampires shows up.
I was stoked to see Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, Delroy Lindo, and Saul Williams pop up in supporting roles too – they really added to the game’s world!

Critics are raving about Sinners, which has a remarkably high 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The Travers Take described it as “unlike anything you’ve ever seen, divisive, dangerous, and poised to become a sensation.”
The Los Angeles Times enthusiastically praised the film Sinners, calling it a thrilling and unforgettable experience. They predicted it wouldn’t just be a box office success or awards contender, but a timeless classic that audiences would cherish for years to come.
According to Slant Magazine, Sinners stands out as a remarkably original and assured mainstream film for today’s audiences.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Hailee Steinfeld shared that working on the film Sinners helped her connect with her family history. Steinfeld, whose grandfather was of Filipino and Black descent, explained that although she never met him, the movie sparked meaningful and emotional discussions within her family, allowing them to learn more about their heritage.
Steinfeld said the movie explores thought-provoking themes that will leave viewers pondering larger ideas. She added that the film is personally meaningful because her grandfather, who connected her to the project, has passed away, and she wishes she could ask him some questions now.
Being surrounded by such a stunning environment makes you think about the struggles of those who came before us and everything they endured so we could have the lives we enjoy today.
Sinners is available to stream on Sky Cinema and NOW (with cinema membership).
