Adam Peaty’s brother, James, has posted a cryptic message that seems directed at his sibling after not being invited to the wedding. The message appears to have a hidden, negative meaning.
Thirty-one-year-old Olympic swimmer James Guy married Holly Ramsay, 25, at Bath Abbey on Saturday. However, most of his family members couldn’t make it to the wedding.
Recent reports indicate that only Adam’s father, Mark, was invited to the wedding, and he was asked to sit in the back, among the guests of other attendees.
James was upset about not being invited to the wedding, so he shared an older photo from the day with his mother, Caroline Peaty, taken outside the venue.
The emotional photo disappeared from his Instagram Story after only 15 minutes, possibly because he was starting to regret how intense the conflict had gotten.
People familiar with the recent events will notice the wedding photo was taken at the same place where Adam and Holly got married just hours earlier.
The photograph, taken at another time, depicts a mother and son standing together, possibly dressed for a wedding, in a meaningful gesture.
Interestingly, James – arrested for supposedly threatening the athlete with messages during his bachelor party – paired the image with a meaningful song.
James chose to perform a remix of ‘Speak Softly, Love,’ a memorable song featured throughout the classic movie, The Godfather.
I still remember when the first movie came out in 1972 – it completely captivated me! It’s the story of Michael Corleone, the son of a powerful Mafia boss, and how his life changes when he meets Kay Adams, someone completely outside of his world. Seeing Al Pacino and Diane Keaton together was just incredible.
It appears James is drawing a comparison between the Corleones and the Ramsays, suggesting the Ramsays are the dominant family. His brother, Adam, seems to be positioned as an outsider in this dynamic.
As Michael fully becomes the Mafia boss, his relationship with Kay falls apart, ending with him shutting her out – a final act shown by the door closing on her.
James’s Instagram page is now empty except for a single photo of him and his mother, which has since been removed.
Adam and Holly recently had a falling out with Adam’s family, and most of them weren’t invited to the wedding. The only exception was his sister, Beth, who was a bridesmaid.
The couple got married in Somerset with around 200 guests, while most of their family watched from home, about 150 miles away.
A family member told The Sun on Sunday they were upset that Adam didn’t contact his parents before proceeding with something, calling it ‘disgusting’.
Beth, Adam’s sister, told Mark he could come to the ceremony, but he’d have to sit in the back.
It was really insensitive of him to tell Beth that his father could sit in the back of the church.
‘Mark was told he could sit behind plus-ones — who Adam has probably never even seen or spoken to.’
According to a source, Caroline was visibly upset as soon as she saw the photos that were published after the event.

The newlyweds looked blissful and happy as they left the beautiful, centuries-old building after their wedding ceremony. Everything seemed perfect and peaceful.
Smiling and waving, the couple walked through the enthusiastic crowd hoping to get a glimpse of them, before continuing on to their wedding venue, the beautiful Kin House manor.
Holly’s father, age 59, was spotted expressing his gratitude to the famous guests – like the Beckhams – as they departed the ceremony.
The lead-up to the wedding hasn’t been easy; it involved a very public and damaging family argument that resulted in the groom’s family being uninvited to the event.
Okay, so things are definitely weird with Adam’s family. I mean, I’ve been following him for years, and I noticed something crazy. Apparently, some of his relatives were flying the Union Jack… upside down! Right there in Staffordshire! She initially stated firmly that she would attend and watch from the street, but later changed her mind.
But her husband, Mark, convinced her not to go to the wedding, explaining it would be too emotionally difficult for her.
The Peatys stayed at their house in Uttoxeter – the very same one Caroline had driven her son to so many practices and competitions from years before.
Six weeks ago, Caroline publicly shared her sadness and confusion following a major family argument. The conflict became public after Holly’s elaborate bachelorette party, from which Caroline was excluded.
Instagram photos from the stylish event showed the future bride with her loved ones, including Victoria Beckham and Adam’s sister, Bethany – but Caroline wasn’t pictured.
She was at home taking care of George, Adam’s five-year-old son from a previous relationship with Eirianedd Munro.
Honestly, it all went crazy after that! It started this huge feud between our family and his family, it was awful. And can you believe they even arrested my brother, James? They said he sent some threatening messages to the athlete while he was celebrating his bachelor party! It was a total overreaction, but it just shows how intense things got. I was so worried about James, and furious at what they were claiming!
After James was accused of making a series of threatening statements to Adam during Adam’s bachelor party in Budapest, police questioned him for two days before releasing him on bail with certain conditions.
Caroline was disinvited from the wedding after a falling out, and his family reportedly labeled her a ‘narcissist’ because of his behavior.
However, someone connected to the Ramsays has suggested the issues stem from significant problems within the Peaty family, and that these problems are the real reason for the current conflict.
According to a source, Holly and Adam received serious threats of violence, and the police are now investigating.
According to a family member who spoke with the Daily Mail, the brothers have always been very close. Jamie, a builder by trade, even assisted Adam with remodeling his home.
‘They’ve always got on, but Adam has changed with his new celebrity lifestyle and family.
James is now facing a possible charge, and his parents are dealing with the upsetting news that they’ve been uninvited and barred from his wedding.
‘This is so hurtful and distressing for our family.’
After returning from his bachelor party, Adam apparently received a large police escort from Manchester airport.
