Pearl Mackie, who played Bill Potts on Doctor Who alongside Peter Capaldi, is teaming up with Billy Harris, known for his role in Ted Lasso. What will happen in the Death in Paradise Christmas special?

Christmas in Saint Marie gets chaotic when an office party goes wrong. Four colleagues wake up with terrible hangovers to discover someone has been shot dead in their villa’s pool.

Detective Inspector Mervin Wilson and his team figured out what was used to commit the murder, but they were completely stumped when they learned it had been locked in a drawer at the time of the shooting. The drawer wasn’t even near the crime scene – it was thousands of miles away in Swindon.

That’s not all DI Mervin has to worry about. He’s also puzzled by a strange detail: the victim had the name of one of Santa’s reindeer tattooed on his palm. All the suspects say they didn’t know the victim, but Mervin isn’t sure if he can believe them.

Mervin is also dealing with personal issues. He contacted a brother he recently found months ago, but hasn’t heard back. Will he be able to sort out his family life and find some holiday cheer for his team and the island community?
