Yesterday, Holly Ramsay arrived at her wedding in Bath Abbey with her famous chef father. She wore a beautiful lace gown, but kept it hidden under a large, flowing ivory cloak.
It’s understandable that Gordon Ramsay’s daughter seemed anxious as she walked through the bustling crowd before her wedding to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty.
The seemingly perfect wedding hid a bitter family feud. The groom’s mother, and almost his entire family, were excluded from the celebration, with accusations of elitism and social climbing fueling the conflict.
More than 130 miles away in Staffordshire, Adam’s mother, Caroline, was devastated to miss what should have been a joyous occasion, and was completely overwhelmed with grief.
Standing in front of the house where he spent his childhood, 59-year-old Adam told The Mail on Sunday, ‘I won’t let this happen to me again.’
She had told yesterday’s Daily Mail that she felt as if Holly and Adam ‘have cut my heart out’.
Just before entering the abbey with his five-year-old son, George, Adam Peaty received a heartbreaking text message from his aunt Louise, who hadn’t been invited to the wedding. Our newspaper has learned the details of this private moment.
It broke my heart to read her message. She wrote that she hopes I never experience the kind of pain I’ve caused her, and even after everything, she still loves me. It was just…so sad and full of disappointment. She ended it by simply saying, ‘Shame on you both,’ and it really hit home how much we’d hurt her.
On this joyful day, and every anniversary of it, please remember the deep pain you caused your mother – a pain that continues to haunt her.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how seemingly small slights can really snowball. In this case, the trouble with the Peaty family actually started back in September 2024. Adam and Holly, when they got engaged, made the decision to have a very intimate celebration – so intimate, in fact, that they didn’t include many extended family members. That initial decision, while perhaps well-intentioned, really laid the groundwork for the conflict we’re seeing now.
As someone who’s seen a lot of families navigate busy schedules and special events, I always say it’s the little things that matter. It was a bit surprising to hear that Caroline, who dedicated so much time driving her son to training, wasn’t included in Holly’s recent hen party at the beautiful Soho Farmhouse. It was quite the event, with Tana Ramsay and Victoria Beckham there, so it felt a little off that Caroline wasn’t part of the celebration after all her support.
Despite everything Caroline sent a card and gift to her newlywed son for his 31st birthday today.
Adam’s great-aunt Janet, 73, who wasn’t invited to the wedding yesterday, told The Mail on Sunday she felt deeply sorry for Caroline.
It’s shocking how he’s treating his mother, considering everything she’s always done for him. It’s simply unkind to behave this way.
Even though she was completely rejected and heartbroken, Caroline had warned she would still come to the wedding. If she wasn’t allowed inside the abbey, she vowed to stand outside and watch from the street.
She explained that she decided not to go after her husband, Mark, persuaded her it would be too distressing.
If she hadn’t ignored her son’s order, she would have been confronted by five security guards stationed before the abbey’s old, intricately decorated wooden doors. These doors were surrounded by beautiful arrangements of white roses and hydrangeas.

The Ramsays spent a significant amount of money on the wedding venue – far more than the usual £2,500 – and reserved it exclusively for the entire day to keep the ceremony completely private.
Gordon Ramsay, known for his fiery temper and successful career as a chef, was surprisingly well-behaved as he assisted his 25-year-old daughter exiting a black Rolls-Royce. The car arrived outside the historic abbey around 12:30 PM.
He leaned in and whispered something to her, then kissed her cheek as someone nearby smoothed out her wrinkled clothes.
As we stepped out, a chilly wind hit us, but it was quickly overshadowed by the incredible warmth of the crowd! People were shouting ‘Merry Christmas’ and rushing over to wish us well – it was such a lovely, festive moment, honestly. It really filled my heart with joy to experience that kind of genuine holiday spirit.
The guests waiting to see the bride included many famous faces, like Sir David and Victoria Beckham – a couple who have experienced family drama themselves.
Romeo, Cruz, and Harper – the Beckhams’ children, who are good friends with the Ramsays – also attended. However, their son Brooklyn wasn’t present.
Marcus Wareing from Masterchef: The Professionals and his wife Jane were also there.
The ensuing ceremony, one guest later told The Mail on Sunday, was ‘beautiful and very emotional’.

Holly, similar to her fiancé Adam who is deeply religious, insisted on a wedding ceremony held in a church. Their ceremony was especially meaningful thanks to the important part played by George, Peaty’s son from a previous relationship.
Holly’s bridesmaids were her sisters, Megan, 27, and Tilly, 24, along with Adam’s sister, Bethany. Bethany was the only member of Adam’s family invited to both the wedding and Holly’s bachelorette party.
Family members mentioned Bethany was chosen as a bridesmaid because she seemed to naturally fit into the Ramsays’ sophisticated lifestyle.
Some saw it as a rebellious act, but Bethany walked into the abbey hand-in-hand with Holly’s oldest sister, both carrying white lilies.
The bridesmaids all wore flowing red dresses created by Victoria Beckham. Victoria herself chose one of her designs – a teal dress costing £1,290. The bride’s mother, Tana, also wore a dark green silk dress from Beckham’s label. The groom, Peaty, styled his hair neatly and matched his father-in-law, wearing the same dinner suit.
No one revealed who designed Holly’s beautiful floral lace dress. The designer’s identity was a secret until Holly was safely inside the abbey and away from the cameras.
The wedding ceremony went smoothly, despite the noticeable absence of the groom’s family. The happy couple left the church around 1:30 PM to the sound of celebratory bells. They then drove to Kin House, a beautiful Georgian manor house located 17 miles from the church near Chippenham, for their reception.
The wedding reception included a delicious meal with prawn cocktail, beef Wellington, and pan-roasted halibut, finished with tarte tatin. A traditional wedding cake was served at 8 p.m.
According to a source, Holly and Adam put a lot of careful planning into their event, and it all went exactly as they hoped. They were thrilled to finally share it with their guests.
Although the wedding ceremony and reception were kept very private, it’s expected that footage will be included in a new Netflix documentary focusing on the Ramsay family’s life.
Caroline Peaty might finally get to see her son’s wedding when it airs early next year – it could be the first time she’s seen it.
Currently, a mother and son are stuck in a painful disagreement, and they haven’t been able to repair their once-strong bond. Hopefully, they’ll find a way to reconcile and live happily again.
