Tammy Hembrow and Bailey Smith slammed over cringey video – after ‘hard launching’ their relationship: ‘The worst thing I’ve ever seen’

Bailey Smith and Tammy Hembrow are facing criticism for their recent video together, with many people openly sharing their disapproval.

The couple recently publicly revealed their relationship as part of a collaboration with the dating app Tinder. Tammy shared the first photos from this partnership on Instagram on Saturday.

A somewhat embarrassing video features 25-year-old Bailey acting as a dating coach, giving 31-year-old Tammy advice on how to start conversations on dating apps.

Bailey admitted she wasn’t impressed with Tammy’s initial online conversation skills. Tammy playfully responded, questioning Bailey’s assessment.

Bailey made a deal with his student: every time she started with a weak opening line, she had to do a shoulder press as a consequence.

Bailey didn’t think much of Tammy’s opening line, ‘Heyyy,’ calling it ‘Shocking.’

Tammy then suggested asking about the clothing label, and Coach Bailey approved the question.

He was offended by her question about marriage, and made a pointed remark referencing her previous divorce from Matt Zukowski.

‘Tammy, have you learned nothing?’ Bailey asked.

The fitness expert then shifted the conversation to travel, asking about Japan: ‘I’ve always dreamed of visiting. What was the highlight of your trip?’

Oh my gosh, when she finally asked the right question, Bailey was SO thrilled! She basically shouted, ‘Yes! That’s exactly what I needed to hear!’ and then gave Tammy the sweetest praise – ‘Nice work!’ I swear, I was practically jumping up and down with them! It was a perfect moment, honestly.

The clip ended with Tammy admitting she felt confident in her newly honed conversation skills.

‘Go get ’em, tiger,’ Bailey said.

The clip elicited a flurry of comments from fans, with many saying the result was ‘awkward’.

Okay, so Simone Anderson saw the clip, and honestly? The shade she threw was epic. She just wrote ‘Fab ad’ – like, really? – and then flooded it with those crying-laughing emojis. It was so passive-aggressive, but I lived for it! I’ve replayed that comment like a million times, seriously.

Another follower replied to Simone’s cheeky comment with: ‘Stop lying.’

One fan commented that the photo looked really awkward, and another joked that it must be a prank.

Another follower went one further, claiming the ad was the worst thing they had ever witnessed.

People reacted strongly to what they saw, with one person calling it the worst thing they’d ever witnessed. Another commenter pointed out that, despite the criticism, the person responsible was still highly compensated.

Fans weren’t just bothered by the poor acting; one observant viewer also noticed mistakes in how the video was made.

‘The lighting on this is awful,’ they wrote.

Some were even driven to anger over the clip with one follower asking: ‘Wtf is this s***?’

It wasn’t all criticism though, with some fans praising the pairing as an ‘ICONIC collab’.

Following Bailey’s Instagram post on Monday, he and Tammy revealed they’re officially just friends. They’re partnering with Tinder to promote the dating app ahead of what’s expected to be a busy day for online dating—January 4th.

He announced that he and Tammy have decided to help each other improve their Tinder profiles this summer, acting as each other’s coaches.

The video sparked surprise and discussion after people had been wondering for months if the pair were dating, with their relationship seeming to start and stop earlier in the year.
