Sam Thompson’s new romance with girlfriend Talitha Balinska heats up as they spend their first Christmas together with his family

Sam Thompson and his girlfriend, Talitha Balinska, celebrated their first Christmas together, signaling their relationship is becoming more serious.

The 33-year-old TV star shared photos on Instagram over the holidays showing her family enjoying their day together.

They celebrated Christmas with Sam’s mother, his sister Louise (age 35), her fiancé Ryan Libbey (also 35), and Louise and Ryan’s four-year-old son, Leo.

In one of the pictures, the couple was wearing matching pajamas with red and white candy cane stripes, decorated with festive wreaths and Christmas trees.

In another photo the pair snuggled up warm outside beneath a blanket as they smiled for the camera. 

Sam and Talitha, both 25, publicly acknowledged they were dating in early December after having dated for a few months.

Sam’s friend and former co-star on Made In Chelsea, Reza Amiri-Garroussi, introduced the couple. They initially met in 2023 when Talitha worked as a model for Dinelli, a sunglasses brand co-owned by Sam and Reza.

Sam was dating Zara McDermott when he reconnected with Talitha. They met when she unexpectedly appeared as a guest at his show at the O2 Arena, and according to a source, they quickly became a couple.

Zara and Sam were in a relationship for about five years, starting in May 2019 and ending in December 2024.

On their podcast, Staying Relevant, the TV star told his close friend Pete Wicks that he’s now in a relationship.

He announced with excitement, ‘I have a girlfriend! I have a girlfriend!’ and Pete jokingly said, ‘He’s fallen for a girl again, and we’ve lost him!’

When asked about proposing to Talitha, Sam said it was very relaxed and low-key. He actually described it as quite uneventful, but explained that was exactly the atmosphere he was going for.

I told them I really liked them while we were at dinner, and then I asked if they’d be my boyfriend. Now I’m suddenly feeling really nervous about it all!

He continued, saying he really liked her and felt completely comfortable being himself around her. He told her he didn’t want to date anyone else.

At 33, I was starting to think seriously about a future with her, so I asked if she’d be my girlfriend. Luckily, she said yes, and I was thrilled!

Oh my gosh, Pete was SO sweet! He immediately messaged Sam, telling him how incredibly proud he was of how far he’s come. It’s just…last Christmas was rough. You remember, right? That’s when Sam and Zara completely fell apart after FIVE years together. It was heartbreaking, but seeing Sam now? He’s amazing, and Pete totally gets it.

You know, it really warmed my heart to hear everyone expressing such joy! It was lovely to see how proud they were of everything that had been accomplished, and there was this fantastic feeling of things coming full circle. Honestly, the best part was hearing someone simply exclaim, ‘Christmas is back on! I’m so happy!’ – it’s those simple moments of pure joy that really make life special, isn’t it?
