Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves reveals late star Mickey Lee was ‘born with hole in her heart’ after shock death

On Friday, Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves shared a tribute on Instagram to Mickey Lee, a former contestant, following her passing.

Lee died on Thursday at age 35 following multiple cardiac arrests.

Les Moonves, age 55, posted a photo of himself with Lee and disclosed details about Lee’s health that hadn’t been public before.

I had the pleasure of chatting with Mickey Lee on my show, God 101, a couple of months back. During our conversation, she bravely shared her incredible story – she was born with a heart defect, and later, against all odds, survived a devastating ATV accident. She truly believes it was divine intervention that saved her life, and hearing her talk about it was incredibly moving.

She shared that her beloved Mickey had passed away peacefully last night, writing, ‘God brought her home. Rest in peace, dear Mickey. I’ll see you again someday.’

The reality TV host concluded by saying, ‘I hope God brings comfort and healing to your family and friends during this difficult time. Amen.’

Lee’s family confirmed the heartbreaking news on Instagram one day after her sudden death.

The family of Mickey Lee sadly announced that she passed away on Christmas evening, according to a statement.

Mickey became a fan favorite on ‘Big Brother’ thanks to her genuine personality, resilience, and positive attitude, leaving a memorable impact on both viewers and those she lived with in the house.

People will fondly remember her for the happiness she shared with others and the real relationships she built, both in her work and personal life.

Reality TV star Rachel Reilly Villegas expressed her deep sadness and shock over the loss of a fellow cast member in a statement to the Daily Mail.

I don’t really feel it’s my place to comment, as this doesn’t directly involve me. I’m deeply saddened for her family and friends, and this news is truly heartbreaking.

Villegas shared that ‘Big Brother’ creates lasting bonds, like family. She’s incredibly thankful for her time with Mickey, explaining they went into the house as strangers but left with a lifelong connection.

I’ll always cherish the memories, laughter, and special moments we shared – things only we understood. I’ll keep a piece of her spirit with me forever. Rest peacefully, my dear friend.

Lee came in tenth place on Big Brother’s 27th season.

She did a final public interview with the Daily Mail at Orlando’s Over the Edge Celebrity Weekend on December 6th.

“Big Brother was incredible! I had such a great time and formed some really strong friendships that I know will last a lifetime. It was always a dream of mine to be on the show, and now I’m excited to use this opportunity to make a positive impact,” the star explained.

The event helped raise thousands for The 404 Fund, supporting underprivileged children in Atlanta.

Omar Elkalyoubie, the event organizer, shared with the Daily Mail that Mickey was one of the first people he contacted from Big Brother 27. He said she was thrilled to participate and support her favorite charity.

He mentioned that communication with her was great and she was really excited about the event. She was a bit delayed getting there because she was hosting a BET red carpet, but once she arrived, she immediately jumped in, filming videos, meeting fans, and spending time with the other reality TV stars at all the activities.

This is deeply heartbreaking. She was a truly radiant and delightful person – a joy to be around.
