Mickey Lee dies at 35: Big Brother star passes away after multiple cardiac arrests as iconic castmate pays tribute

Big Brother alum Mickey Lee passed away on Thursday evening following multiple cardiac arrests.

Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news on Instagram the next day.

The family of Mickey Lee shared the sad news of her passing on Christmas evening, according to a statement released Friday.

Mickey quickly became a fan favorite on ‘Big Brother,’ connecting with viewers through her genuine personality, resilience, and positive attitude, leaving a memorable impact on both the audience and the other contestants, according to the post.

Those who knew her said she’ll be remembered for the happiness she shared with others and the real relationships she built, both in her personal life and through her work.

Rachel Reilly Villegas, known from Big Brother, shared her sadness with Daily Mail, saying she was shocked and heartbroken by the news. She felt it wasn’t her place to comment extensively, and expressed her deepest sympathy to the deceased’s family and friends.

Big Brother isn’t just about the competition; it creates lasting connections. I’m incredibly thankful I shared the experience with Mickey. We started as strangers entering the house, but left as lifelong friends.

I’ll always cherish the memories, laughter, and special moments we shared – things only we understood. I’ll keep a piece of her spirit with me forever. Rest peacefully, my dear friend.

I was absolutely devastated to hear that Lee was in the hospital! I immediately found out through a GoFundMe page – apparently, he’s been through so much, suffering a string of cardiac arrests. They said he’s in critical but stable condition, and honestly, just knowing that’s even possible is a relief, but I’m still so worried about him. I’ve been glued to updates ever since, hoping for the best for my idol.

Lee’s family announced he’s facing a serious and unexpected health issue, and they anticipate a difficult and lengthy recovery process.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m happy to share about a wonderful campaign! It’s called ‘Support Mickey’s Medical Journey,’ and my friend Kori Smith organized it to help Chanel Hill-McElfresh. It’s a beautiful way to come together and support someone in need.

Mickey recently had several heart attacks and is currently in the intensive care unit. Family members say his condition is critical, but he is stable.

Lee, originally from Jacksonville and now living in Atlanta, is surrounded by her family and medical team, but she faces a difficult and lengthy recovery, according to her family.

Lee and her family are struggling with significant emotional and financial hardship due to increasing hospital bills and the costs of continued care and recovery, according to a GoFundMe campaign.

The family is fundraising to help cover the costs of medical care not paid for by insurance, including intensive care, specialist treatment, and recovery support. They also need help with travel, lodging, and other expenses related to getting the care they need.

As of Monday afternoon, more than $12,000 of a $22,000 goal had been met.

Family members shared that any amount donated will directly support Mickey’s care and help her family through this challenging time.

Lee was remembered by her family as a lively, clever, and memorable person. She quickly won over fans with her enthusiastic, genuine, and daring style of play.

Mickey has inspired many people with her bravery, vibrant personality, and memorable time on Big Brother, and her family is now asking for the same outpouring of love and support as she faces a difficult time.

The family wrapped up in saying, ‘Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support.’

Lee came in 10th place on Big Brother’s 27th season, which was won by Ashley Hollis.

Lee appeared as a contestant on the latest season of the CBS reality show, which aired from July 10th to September 28th. She was eliminated from the competition on September 4th.

Several former Big Brother contestants sent Lee supportive messages in the comments of an Instagram post detailing her health problems and the fundraising campaign to help her.

BB 27’s Lauren Domingue said she was ‘sending so much love and prayers.’

Jimmy Heagerty III of BB 27 said he was ‘praying for an easy and smooth recovery’ for his co-star.

Leah Peters, a former contestant on Big Brother 26, expressed shock and sympathy, saying she was very sorry to hear about Mickey’s situation and wished him a quick recovery.

BB 25’s Cameron Hardin wrote, ‘All the love Mickey! You’ve got this!’
