Married At First Sight star Jessika Power struck down by Christmas food poisoning: ‘It’s not fun’

It looks like Jessika Power might have gotten sick from something she ate during the holidays.

The 33-year-old, who previously appeared on Married At First Sight, shared on Instagram on Boxing Day that she wasn’t feeling well.

Jessika posted a video to her story of herself relaxing on a couch while wearing a summery floral dress.

Even though Jessika wasn’t feeling well, she looked perfect on camera, with her hair neatly styled and her nails beautifully done.

Jessika told her followers she wasn’t feeling well, but a phone call from an old romantic interest had made her feel even worse.

‘The level of sick I feel right now,’ Jessika said before trailing off.

I felt much better today; it wasn’t even close to how awful I felt last night when my ex sent me a Christmas message.

Jessika continued: ‘But still… ugh. Food poisoning is not fun. It’s not fun.’

Jessika didn’t publicly identify the ex who wronged her, but her last relationship was with Ryan. They broke up in March, only a few weeks after announcing their relationship on Instagram.

Jessika announced on Instagram Stories that she and her partner had broken up after screenshots of him texting another woman became public.

The reality star said they were separated when the messages were exchanged, and nothing inappropriate happened between them.

In January, Jessika publicly revealed her new boyfriend on Instagram, only four months after ending her relationship with DJ Brent Anthony.

She posted several photos on social media showing her having fun in the pool with Ryan, wearing a revealing red bikini.

Jessika’s festive malaise followed a recent trip to hospital for a mystery illness. 

Jessika reassured fans about her health a day after being hospitalized, following concerns they expressed.

She shared on Instagram that it had been a really tough night, and she was completely worn out from feeling sick and in pain.

The content creator explained she was sick with a virus, but is now recovering.

Jessika explained in a message that her doctor diagnosed her with a virus causing inflammation and pain in her stomach and intestines.

Jessika added that she ‘dragged’ herself to the GP after being unable to cope with the pain. 

She admitted she really dislikes going to the doctor, but she finally went because she’d been in terrible pain for three days and had started vomiting that morning, which worried her.

She shared that she felt relieved to finally have a diagnosis, especially since it wasn’t something serious. Now, she’s prioritizing getting plenty of rest and recovering.

‘I just need to rest now and hopefully I will be 100% in a few days,’ Jessika said.

I’m still feeling unwell and getting better, so I decided to write this message instead of making a video. I don’t want to share how I look while I’m sick.

Before the news was released, Jessika posted a video on Instagram showing herself in a hospital bed with tubes connected to her stomach.

She also had a bruise and a cut over one eye.

Jessika shared a second video after fans asked her to explain the story behind the cut on her eye.

Jessika told her followers the cut on her face, which looked bad, wasn’t actually painful. She explained she got it while watching a dog for someone.
