New episodes of Stranger Things will start appearing on Netflix on Christmas Day, but the exact time depends on where you live. For the final season, Netflix is releasing episodes later in the day than usual – at least for viewers in the UK. Because of time differences, the 5pm Pacific Time release means UK viewers will get the new episodes at 1am. So, while some will be watching on Christmas Day, those in the UK will likely be watching on Boxing Day. Here’s a closer look at the release times…

How many episodes are in Stranger Things season 5?

The series will have eight episodes. The first four were released in November as part one, and part two will include three more episodes.

The final episode will be a feature-length event, comprising of a runtime of 2 hours and 5 minutes.

It’s not shocking that the Duffer brothers’ show has such a long finale. Season four already ended with an episode over two and a half hours long, and many previous episodes were around 90 minutes each.

We’ll have to watch the show (on New Year’s Day in the UK!) to see what happens to all the characters.
