Toyotarou Is Back on Dragon Ball Super With New Ultra Instinct Goku & Gohan Beast Team-Up

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of the Super manga, which has been on break since the beginning of 2024. Now, just in time for the holidays, the manga’s creator, Toyotarou, has given the strongest indication yet that it might be back in 2026.

A new drawing of Goku and Gohan by artist Toyotarou is giving fans a big hint about what’s coming next in the Dragon Ball series. While Toyotarou has sketched Goku and Gohan together in their powerful Ultra Instinct and Gohan Beast forms before, since the Dragon Ball Super manga paused, this is the most attention-grabbing example so far.

The latest issue of V Jump magazine in Japan features Ultra Instinct Goku and Gohan Beast on its cover. The “super-sized” February edition was released on December 19th. V Jump has been publishing chapters of Dragon Ball Super—all 104 of them—since 2015, and is owned by Shueisha.

Dragon Ball Super’s Toyotarou Art Is Finally Official for New V Jump February 2026 Cover

Toyotarou recently created new artwork featuring Goku and Gohan to mark the 10th anniversary of Dragon Ball Super. It’s likely this celebration, featured in V Jump magazine, hints at a possible return of the Dragon Ball Super manga.

To celebrate the anniversary, V Jump magazine is giving away a stunning figure from Ichiban Kuji’s MASTERLISE line. This special MASTERLISE-OUTSIDE- figure is based on artwork by Toyotarou, originally created for the August 2025 cover of V Jump, and shows a damaged Ultra Instinct Goku and Beast Gohan fighting side-by-side in a powerful father-son pose.

The December 2025 issue of V Jump magazine will feature a detailed showcase of the new figure, including a conversation between creator Toyotarou and the sculptor VAROQ. As a special addition, the issue also includes a “Trunks: Future” card.

Fans in Japan can now easily enter to win the new Ultra Instinct Goku and Gohan Beast figure by applying through V Jump before January 21, 2026. The entry fee is 12,000 yen (around $77) and can be submitted on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. If selected, figures are expected to ship starting in mid-July 2026, though the exact date may depend on how many people apply.

The December 2025 issue of V Jump won’t have any news about what’s coming next in the Dragon Ball Super manga. However, the cover image might hint at something big, possibly related to an event happening on January 25, 2026.
