After finishing his on-air report, the journalist shared a video on Instagram showing him reacting to the broadcast, filmed right after the cameras stopped rolling on Good Morning Britain.

Wow, so that was it – my final Good Morning Britain show after 26 amazing years! It was a bit surreal saying goodbye, and I was thinking about everything that’s happened over the years, plus all the changes coming up with the show moving to a new studio.

This has been the best job in television news – a real privilege – and I’m going to miss it tremendously. I’ll also really miss the amazing people I’ve worked with, the incredible teams behind the scenes at Good Morning Britain. I’ve traveled the world with them and spoken to them from all over the planet, and many are moving with the program to ITN in the New Year.

They’re facing a lot of adjustments with a new studio, newsroom, and budget, and I’m definitely keeping them in my thoughts. It’s a big transition for me as well, as I start looking ahead to new opportunities next year.

I definitely want to thank my wife. She’s been incredible and a huge support to me throughout everything. I truly couldn’t have managed this job, my family, and my career without her.

I’m so grateful for the support of all of you who have been listening and watching for over 25 years. I’ve really appreciated your thoughtful, constructive, and kind feedback. I’ll miss our mornings together, but I hope to see you on TV again soon.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
