MAFS UK bride Amy Christophers unveils her hunky new boyfriend and his VERY romantic girlfriend proposal after ‘toxic’ split from show groom Joshua Christie

Amy Christopher, who appeared on Married At First Sight UK, has shared details of her new partner, some time after a difficult breakup with her former husband from the show, Joshua Christie.

The sports journalist was a contestant on the E4 dating show in 2021, but her marriage to Joshua didn’t last.

Just before the holidays, Amy introduced her new boyfriend, Darren, in a Christmas post, sharing the heartwarming message ‘It was always you.’

Amy recently revealed that she and her boyfriend have a long history, spanning over 20 years, and feel like they’re finally meant to be together.

Let me tell you, it’s so lovely when romance happens! He actually asked me to be his girlfriend while we were on a really sweet trip together – it was just the perfect moment, and I couldn’t have been happier.

Amy posted photos of a sweet surprise from her boyfriend: he spelled out messages using rose petals, leading her to their hotel room – and the big proposal question!

Posting a slew of selfies with her new man, Amy captioned her post: ‘The HARD launch.

After 23 years, everything finally fell into place. We needed to pursue our individual paths and become our true selves, but through it all, it always came back to you.

I was absolutely thrilled when I saw her post! The comments section quickly filled up with so much love and congratulations. One message really stood out to me – someone wrote about how amazing it was to see her ending 2025 so happily, with someone who clearly adores her and makes her smile. It was so sweet, and everyone agreed she deserves all the happiness in the world, and more!

Oh my gosh, seeing Amy so happy just completely made my day! Seriously, it’s SO refreshing to see someone genuinely glowing like that. Huge congratulations to her and her partner – they deserve all the happiness in the world! I’m already getting all warm and fuzzy inside thinking about their Christmas… I just know it’s going to be magical and extra special for them. I’m practically counting down the seconds! 🎄

Amy and Joshua broke up after their final vows on Married at First Sight UK. Amy revealed during the reunion show that the relationship didn’t work out because Joshua didn’t seem to put in enough effort.

Amy was devastated and shared that Joshua hadn’t provided a clear explanation for why they split up.

Amy, a sports presenter for channels like Sky Sports, stated last year that appearing on the show negatively impacted her career, leading to a significant decrease in job offers.

‘MAFS changed the direction of my sports career, and it started taking over’, she told The Mirror.

I had to take a break from my athletic pursuits, and when the relationship ended, it naturally took time to recover emotionally.

‘I ended up taking two years out of my life, and that obviously affected my sports career as well.’

Amy confessed she hadn’t anticipated the show’s immense popularity, but she’s now successfully returned to her career in sports.
