Taylor Adams is about to become a father.
Sydney Swans player, 32, and his wife, Ellie Thornycroft, 31, announced some happy news on Instagram Tuesday.
A message on their shared post announced exciting news: they’re expecting a baby girl in April and are feeling great about becoming parents.
A lovely photo came with the announcement, showing Taylor and Ellie cozy together, with Taylor gently holding Ellie’s baby bump.
A further photo showed an ultrasound image of the pair’s little one.
Taylor received a flood of congratulatory messages online, including posts from fellow AFL players like Will Hayward, Nick Blakey, and Brodie Grundy.

Ellie and Taylor had wed in star-studded wedding on the Gold Coast in November last year.
Taylor posted a heartwarming video on Instagram showcasing the best moments from the ceremony, which took place at The Valley Estate in Currumbin Valley.
Oh my gosh, you guys, Taylor looked absolutely incredible! Seriously, a total dream in a designer tux as he married his amazing partner – she’s a paediatric speech pathologist, how sweet is that?! – and she was breathtaking in this gorgeous, classic white wedding dress. Strapless, perfection! I’m still not over it!
The newlyweds radiated love and joy as they shared their first dance as husband and wife.
Many of Taylor’s friends from the Australian Football League were at the event, including his Sydney Swans teammates Isaac Heeney and Brodie Grundy, as well as Collingwood players Darcy Moore, Scott Pendlebury, Jeremy Howe, Darcy Cameron, and Steele Sidebottom.
Taylor captioned the clip: ‘Mr and Mrs Adams’.
The midfielder proposed to Ellie in regional Victoria in August, 2023.
They’ve been together since 2017, and she often joins him at events like the Brownlow Medal.

The pair were recently working on their first home renovation together.
In September 2022, Taylor showed his gratitude to a young fan who comforted him after he was injured during a game. The girl held his hand and gave him a hug outside the MCG, and Taylor repaid her kindness.
Taylor played for Collingwood for ten years, from 2014 to 2023, but a severe groin injury forced him to miss their attempt to win the championship. He was in significant pain during the six-point loss.
You know, witnessing a tough moment for an athlete is never easy. I was watching this incredible player get helped off the field in the fourth quarter – he was clearly frustrated, and you could just feel the disappointment. But then something really beautiful happened. As they were carrying him, he literally bumped into a sweet young fan named Isabella and her dad. And honestly, seeing that interaction instantly changed the whole energy – you could see him visibly lift and find some joy in that moment. It was a powerful reminder of why they play the game – for those connections with the fans!
After the game today, as I was walking back to the AIA centre, a young girl and her father noticed I looked exhausted, I shared on social media.
She approached me and kindly offered to hold my hand as we crossed Swan Street, then gave me a big hug. I really hope I can see her again.
Social media helped Adams fulfill his wish: he connected with the family and gave them a tour of the team’s facilities.
