Actor John Leguizamo, who has often spoken out against President Trump and his policies, says he’s limiting who can see his posts on social media due to the government’s strict enforcement of immigration laws.
I was pretty surprised to see a message from one of my favorite actors today. He posted a short video saying that if you’re following ICE, he doesn’t want you following him anymore. It was a really direct statement, but he clearly feels strongly about this.
He continued, urging people not to attend his performances or watch his films. The Emmy-winning actor, Leguizamo, also shared a message online calling for the abolishment of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

I was really shocked and upset to learn about Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse and U.S. citizen, being fatally shot by federal agents. It’s horrifying, and I’m standing with Olivia Rodrigo, Pedro Pascal, and so many others speaking out against ICE and demanding answers. It just feels incredibly wrong, and we need to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.
The actor and comedian, known for roles in movies like “Ice Age” and “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar,” is one of many Hollywood figures publicly criticizing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agents following recent deaths. Earlier this month, an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Good in Minneapolis, and Border Patrol agents shot Alex Pretti in the same city on January 24th. Keith Porter Jr. was fatally shot by an off-duty immigration agent in Northridge on December 31st. These deaths are part of a larger pattern, with over 20 people killed during increased immigration enforcement efforts that began under the Trump administration last year.
Several other celebrities have also publicly criticized federal immigration enforcement. Actors like Pedro Pascal, Mark Ruffalo, and Ayo Edebiri have spoken out, as have musicians including Olivia Rodrigo, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, and Tyler, the Creator.
As a strong supporter of border security, I was really encouraged to hear Tom Homan, the White House’s border policy advisor, speak yesterday. He explained that if federal agents could access local jails, they could scale back some of the street operations in Minneapolis. He made it very clear that the federal government remains fully committed to enforcing our immigration laws and isn’t letting up on this important work.

It’s unsettling to consider what Gregory Bovino, now with greatly increased authority as a Border Patrol chief, will consider to be going too far. We’re about to see, as his powers expand, how far he’s willing to push things.
Look, we’re definitely not backing down from what we’re trying to achieve here. As a film enthusiast, I appreciate a strong commitment, and that’s what I’m seeing – we’re sticking to the President’s plan when it comes to immigration enforcement. Let me be really clear about that – it’s still the priority.
