Avatar: Fire and Ash star had a role in Avengers: Endgame that nobody remembers

So, before I jumped into the world of Avatar: Fire and Ash, I was actually in another huge movie! I recently talked about that quick, but really cool, appearance and it’s been fun sharing that little story.

The actor reprised their role in the third film of James Cameron’s fantastical saga, playing Spider, a teenage boy who lives on the planet Pandora.

Now playing in theaters, the movie shows Spider gaining the ability to breathe the air of Pandora without needing a mask. This happens after Kiri (Sigourney Weaver) links him to Eywa, fully connecting him to the Na’vi way of life.

Before playing Spider in Scream VI, the actor had a small role in Avengers: Endgame. He played a kid on a bike during the scene where Paul Rudd’s character, Scott Lang, comes out of the Quantum Realm.

It happened quickly, but it was a significant moment for Champion, marking his first on-screen appearance with Zoe Saldana, his co-star from Avatar.

He shared with Entertainment Weekly that Endgame felt like a truly collaborative film, involving practically everyone in the cast and crew, and even the wider Hollywood community.

I feel lucky to have been involved in that world, even for a little bit. I attended a screening of Endgame in LA, and Zoe Saldana actually asked the host to give me a quick mention. She called me ‘Kid on Bike’ as a shoutout, which was really funny.

So, we did this little online game recently, and my wife totally forgot I was in Endgame! It was a quiz about franchises I’d worked on, and she actually said, ‘I don’t think Jack’s ever been in Marvel!’ She realized her mistake right away and was super apologetic.

He shared that he only had one audition – after submitting a video of himself – and received a call about the part a month later.

He mentioned people are usually surprised to see him in Marvel films, but then they often realize, ‘Oh, you were the kid on the bike!’ He finds it amusing when they remember him after all this time, often responding with something like, ‘You still recognize me?’

Do you remember the young actor from the ‘Kid on Bike’ Beaver haircut commercials? It’s surprising how many people recognize him once I mention it.
