Mamma Mia! star Georgina Castle reveals she’s gone on honeymoon with her famous dad and her mother while her new husband stays at home in London

Georgina Castle is starting her honeymoon with a surprising travel companion – her dad! Her new husband, Simon Lipkin, couldn’t make the trip and is staying home in London.

The 33-year-old actress, known for her role in Mean Girls, didn’t go on a typical honeymoon. Instead, she joined her parents on their trip to the Maldives just four months after marrying Simon, 39, playfully calling it a ‘crash’ on their romantic getaway.

Georgina Castle, whose father is former British No.1 tennis player and BBC Wimbledon commentator Andrew Castle (62), recently posted photos on Instagram from a vacation she took.

I’m loving the photos! She’s totally living her best life – picture this: stunning white sand beaches, gliding across the turquoise Indian Ocean on a hoverboard, and then diving in to swim with the most colorful tropical fish. It’s pure paradise and seriously inspiring me to book a getaway!

Her new husband, Simon, wasn’t present in the happy family photos because he’s currently performing as Fagin in the West End production of Oliver! and is nominated for an Olivier Award for his role, making it difficult for him to take time off.

Georgina explained the unusual situation, saying she surprised her parents on their romantic getaway and ended up experiencing a ‘honeymoon’ without her husband! She feels very grateful to have finished the year this way, surrounded by family.

Simon, I’m really looking forward to our next adventure – and hopefully, it won’t involve as many sharks! You’ll be glad to know that’s my wish too.

Georgina loved relaxing in the sunshine, and her parents, Andrew and Sophia, were happy to have her along on their trip.

More photos show the three of them snorkelling and spending cozy evenings at a simple beach bar, where Georgina can be seen laughing with her father.

Just four months after the beautiful London wedding where I had the honor of walking my daughter, Georgina, down the aisle, we’re all off on a little getaway! It’s been a whirlwind of happiness for the whole family, and this trip feels like the perfect way to celebrate the start of Georgina and Simon’s married life together.

Georgina posted photos from their wedding on Instagram. She wore a beautiful, long white lace dress with a flowing train and veil, and Simon looked handsome in a classic black tuxedo with a white necktie.

I’ve been a huge fan of Simon’s work for years – he’s amazing in shows like Rock of Ages, Avenue Q, and Elf: The Musical! Actually, it was during Elf back in 2022 that he first met Georgina, which is such a sweet story!

People immediately responded positively to Georgina’s post, filling the comments with praise for her family’s closeness and the beautiful location.

Andrew has always been proud of his daughter’s work as an actress, but he’s also said he was surprised when she first decided to pursue it as a career.

He admitted Georgie’s success as an actress was unexpected, as they hadn’t initially supported her pursuing that path. However, her singing captivates everyone, including him, and he finds her chosen career path both unconventional and wonderful.

Georgina has quickly become a West End star, appearing in popular shows like Mamma Mia!, 9 to 5, and recently, Mean Girls. She played the lead role of Regina George, a character originally made famous by Rachel McAdams in the 2004 movie.

I’ve always loved how Simon doesn’t take himself too seriously when talking about us. He once made this funny joke about how he felt lucky to be with me, saying he was ‘punching above his weight’ – it just shows his self-deprecating humor and how genuinely happy he is.

Before the wedding, he joked that his bride’s previous partners were all incredibly handsome and successful men – think millionaires with perfect bodies – and then he came along, ‘just a regular guy.’

When we first met, I was wearing a cheap, badly-fitting ginger wig. I looked terrible – like a low-rent version of Donald Trump with red hair – and somehow, she fell in love with me anyway.
