Walt Disney World’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass was completely booked for eight days in a row at Magic Kingdom during a busy holiday week. It also sold out across all Disney World parks for four consecutive days. Magic Kingdom passes were unavailable starting December 20th and remain sold out through December 27th. Across the entire resort, passes are sold out from December 23rd to December 26th.
As a Disney Parks enthusiast, I checked the My Disney Experience app, and it was clear: Premier Passes were completely sold out for the dates I was looking at. Disney simply ran out of the limited number of passes they make available each day for those specific parks.
Holiday Travel and Demand Factors
The team’s winning streak of sold-out games happened during the busy Christmas travel season, when more people typically travel within the country and visit theme parks.

I’ve been following the Premier Pass prices, and it’s fascinating to see how they change! It looks like prices really jumped during the busiest travel times, and even varied depending on which park you visited and the specific date. I was particularly surprised to learn that December 23rd through the 26th saw record-high prices – guests were paying $449 per person for the Lightning Lane Premier Pass at Magic Kingdom during those days! It just shows how in-demand everything was.
How the Premier Pass Works
Disney introduced the Lightning Lane Premier Pass in late 2024 as a new way to skip lines, replacing the older Genie+ system for those wanting a premium experience. It’s become popular, selling out on several busy days throughout the year. In 2025, the pass also sold out for multiple days during peak times like spring break and other crowded periods.
The Lightning Lane Premier Pass lets guests skip the regular lines at attractions in one park on a specific date. After purchasing a pass for a chosen date and park, you can access the Lightning Lane for each available ride without making separate reservations. You can buy these passes ahead of time on the Disney website or through the My Disney Experience app, but they’re limited and sell out quickly.

Disney limits the number of Premier Access passes sold each day, and how many are available changes from park to park. The cost of these passes also varies depending on the park and date – you can usually expect to pay more during busier times.
Many loyal Disney fans are disappointed that Disney has replaced its free FastPass+ service with a system that requires payment. The new Premier Pass can cost up to $450 per person each day, making a classic Disney vacation much more expensive for families.
Historical Sellouts and Pricing Trends
In early 2025, Premier Pass, which allows access to all four Walt Disney World parks, completely sold out on certain dates, including a period in mid-February. This was the first time all parks had sold out of the pass on the same day.

Premier Pass prices change based on how busy the parks are, similar to how prices go up during major holidays. Recent reports show that prices for some parks on the most popular dates are nearing or even exceeding Disney’s highest price levels, demonstrating that prices vary depending on the day you visit.
