Sony Pictures Has Officially Completed Its 11th Spider-Man Movie In The Tom Holland Era

With Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Sony Pictures has finished making eleven Spider-Man films. Spider-Man remains Sony’s most valuable franchise, and the studio intends to continue developing new projects featuring the character. These projects include both standalone Spider-Man universes created by Sony, as well as the films that have integrated Spider-Man into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Filming has officially finished on the next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a collaboration between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Director Destin Daniel Cretton shared a heartfelt thank you to the cast and crew on Instagram, especially praising Tom Holland for his positive leadership and dedication both during and outside of filming. Cretton marked the completion of the movie with a simple, “That’s a wrap!” – signaling the end of production on the fourth Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I’m incredibly thankful for everyone who supported me during the making of this amazing film – the most fulfilling project I’ve ever been involved in. Nikki, thank you for keeping spirits high even when things were chaotic, and for always going above and beyond for our team. To my children, you reminded me to disconnect and enjoy simple moments, like building a fort together. Our cast brought so much heart and authenticity to these characters, and inspired us daily. And to our crew – your dedication, creativity, and skill were unmatched, and you kept us laughing constantly. I love you all and can’t wait for everyone to see the incredible work you’ve done. Finally, Tom Holland, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and leadership both on and off camera, your commitment to your craft, and your wonderful friendship. That’s a wrap on ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’!

Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day began in late July 2025 and wrapped up after five months. Now, Sony and Marvel have seven months to complete editing, special effects, and other post-production tasks before the movie hits theaters.

The next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will be Tom Holland’s fourth appearance as the web-slinging hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the third theatrical release of Phase 4. The film, also starring Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Michael Mando, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo, follows Peter Parker as he tries to rebuild his life and identity after Doctor Strange’s spell made everyone forget he exists. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.

In the Venom sequel, Eddie and Venom have trouble coexisting, leading to Venom leaving Eddie. Meanwhile, a new villain, Carnage, emerges after Cletus Kasady is infected with a portion of Venom’s blood. Carnage joins forces with Shriek, and together they threaten to destroy everything. Ultimately, Venom and Eddie must come back together to defeat them.

In 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home wasn’t just another Spider-Man movie—it was the biggest live-action superhero film of the year. Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man, joined by villains from past Spider-Man movies and, surprisingly, previous Spider-Men played by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. Jon Watts directed the film, finishing his Spider-Man trilogy.

Once Peter Parker’s secret identity as Spider-Man is exposed, he seeks help from Doctor Strange. Strange offers to cast a spell that would make everyone forget Peter is Spider-Man. However, the spell malfunctions, pulling villains – including the Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Electro – from other universes into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, creating chaos for Peter and those he cares about.

Kraven the Hunter

As a big superhero movie fan, I was really curious about Sony’s last one of the year, Kraven the Hunter. It was directed by J.C. Chandor, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson did a great job as the main character. The cast was pretty solid too, with Ariana DeBose, Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, and Alessandro Nivola all playing important roles.

By drinking lion blood and a special potion, Kraven unlocks incredible powers and transforms into a ruthless hunter who takes the law into his own hands. Driven by a desire for revenge against his father, he’ll stop at nothing to correct the mistakes of the past and punish those who have harmed him.

Kraven the Hunter is now streaming on Netflix.
