Lauren Silverman, Simon Cowell’s fiancée, has spoken out against online trolls who have been making ‘unkind and abusive’ comments following the release of his new Netflix documentary.
After openly discussing their relationship, the 48-year-old socialite responded to her critics with a long post on Instagram.
Lauren, who has an 11-year-old son named Eric with the 66-year-old music executive, has said it’s been difficult for her to open up about her personal life, making her decision to participate in the Netflix documentary, ‘The Next Act,’ a significant step.
She recently shared a heartfelt message explaining that it took her a long time to feel comfortable sharing personal details about her life, family, and career – things she truly values and appreciates. She welcomes honest feedback and strongly believes everyone has the right to express their opinions.
I want to keep this space positive, encouraging, and friendly. Therefore, I will delete any mean, abusive, or hateful comments, especially from people I don’t know, and I will block those users.

This website is a personal space, and I want to keep it positive and welcoming for both myself and my visitors. If you come here with the intention of being negative, this isn’t the right place.
She added a caption reading: ‘It’s really simple. Be kind’.
This post follows a humorous comment Lauren made about potentially attending a funeral before their wedding, given their current pace. The couple initially met in Barbados in 2004, but their romantic relationship didn’t begin until about 2012. They had their son, Eric, in 2014 and announced their engagement in 2021.
Four years after he proposed, Lauren recently joked about how long they’ve been engaged during an interview.
While on ExtraTV, host and Simon Cowell’s former partner, Terri Seymour, jokingly asked if she should start shopping for a hat, hinting at a possible engagement announcement.
I was completely cracking up when Lauren asked if the presenter meant a wedding! Then, when he jokingly said ‘a funeral,’ her response was just perfect. She laughed and said, ‘Well, honestly, who knows which one of those will come first at this point?’ It was a really funny moment, and so relatable!

As a lifestyle expert, I’m really excited about the new Netflix docuseries, The Next Act! It follows Simon Cowell as he travels the country searching for the next big musical talent. And honestly? From what I’ve seen, it’s a wild ride! Simon’s already known for being direct, but apparently having Eric, his son, along for the journey just adds another layer of fun – and maybe a little chaos! He’s hinted it’s a truly entertaining watch, and I can’t wait to see it unfold.
Simon hinted that a wedding is coming soon, now that his fiancée, Lauren, has officially changed her last name.
The show intersperses footage of the X Factor star working with glimpses into his family life with Lauren and their son, Eric. One episode features Lauren legally changing her last name to Cowell.
Simon, who had often said he wasn’t eager to get married, recently proposed to Lauren on Christmas Eve 2021 and now confirms they are planning to wed.
He said he’s always avoided directly confirming any plans. He explained that when they do decide to move forward, they’ll keep it private at first, and then share the news publicly. However, he noted that her recent discussion about changing her name strongly suggests what’s happening.
‘We have a very, very close bond. I adore her. We are a very happy family, genuinely,’ he gushed.

Simon shared that although he had to convince Lauren to be in his new show, going through the process actually made him love her even more.
At first, she was hesitant about being filmed, but she quickly became comfortable, he shared with Us Weekly. He also noted that what viewers see on screen is exactly how she is as a person – completely genuine.
‘When I was watching the show back, I was absolutely cracking up at some of the scenes.
During a scene about changing her name, Lauren explained she wants to drop her former married name. She was previously married to businessman Andrew Silverman and they share a 20-year-old son named Adam.
Oh my gosh, she actually said it! Mrs. Cowell – it still feels unreal saying that! She was talking about her life with Simon, how they’ve built everything together, and how strong they are as a family with their little one. It just… it melts my heart knowing they’re so happy together. I’m seriously obsessed with their relationship!
