Hilary Duff fires back at skeptics as she celebrates six years of marriage to Matthew Koma

Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on Sunday.

The 38-year-old actress and musician both used Instagram to celebrate a special occasion and respond to critics.

Koma posted a picture from their wedding, celebrating six years of marriage. They shared that many people doubted their relationship would last, but they proved everyone wrong.

He jokingly dismissed a negative commenter, saying, ‘Whatever, we’re doing great!’

The mother-of-four re-shared the post via Instagram Stories.

In a post honoring her, Koma—who helped write his wife’s new song, Mature—also playfully compared Duff to a well-known fast food restaurant.

He added, ‘Being married to you is like eating Taco Bell in the 90s.’

The father of three said he’s never quite sure what to expect, but the meal always has similar components, and the enjoyment definitely outweighs any minor stomach upset. He also loves how cool it seems and gets very excited whenever someone suggests getting a Meximelt.

Hilary Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma, have three daughters: Banks, age seven, Mae, age four, and Townes, who is one. She also has a thirteen-year-old son, Luca, from a previous marriage to Mike Comrie.

Oh my god, he posted it again! He actually wrote ‘I love you’ right before detailing total chaos! Like, can you even? He just casually dropped that he and his wife are still going strong while their kids are apparently at war and… Mae ripped the head off Ken?! It’s horrifying and fascinating all at once. I’m living for this level of realness, seriously. I need more details!

The former Disney star joked that being compared to Taco Bell was flattering, adding, ‘He always delivers.’

Koma also shared screenshots from 2015, depicting the start of their romance.

I recently stumbled upon something so sweet while going through old photos! It was a calendar reminder for a coffee date with my now-husband, back when we were first getting to know each other. It was in Studio City, and I’d actually handwritten ‘The meeting went well!’ right over the snapshot. It just reminded me of those early, exciting days and how good things felt right from the start.

A screenshot of an email revealed he told a friend he wanted to marry her. In a post on Sunday, he simply added, ‘And I did.’

Reposting the upload, Duff added, ‘Haahahahaha dork!’

To celebrate their wedding anniversary, she shared a video montage featuring clips from their wedding and other cherished moments.

The Hollywood animal doctor shared a post marking six years, using the lyrics from Adam Sandler’s song ‘Grow Old With You’.

Her husband joined in the comments to declare: ‘Favorite day of my life.’

The couple met 10 years ago while collaborating on the pop star’s album Breathe In. Breathe Out.

In a 2021 interview with PEOPLE, Hilary Duff explained that she and her husband realized they were meant to be together after repeatedly attempting and failing to stay apart.

She also told the outlet at the time, ‘I’m so in love with all my kids, and I love this mayhem.’
